Hamsters are one of the easiest pets to look after, they take up little space, don't smell if cleaned about twice a week.
Make sure you pick a nice hamster though, some are quite nasty, not to put you off.. Dwarf hamsters i think will be quite nice, i have dwarf rabbits and they are very friendly.
Though hamsters and rabbits need alot of handling, so if you choose to have one, be sure you won't get bored of it. This helps, because they get used to you and shouldn't bite.
I think if you get just one hamster, they might get lonely, so make sure to handle it more than if you had two :).

Hamsters are generally easy to take care of, but as said they can get abit of a bad odour... aswell as that you'll need to clean them out quite often which is a bit annoying at times, especially once the novelties wore off! ;P
The problem with keeping more than one hamster in the same cage, is that they can become quite aggresive and same gender hamsters tend to try and kill each other, whilst opposite genders mate - then end up trying to kill their babies / their babies try to kill them. :(
So be careful keeping more than one...!
there nice and soft aswell , dont forget friendly. :p

I haven't had a hamster in so long. I've only had one and it was 8 years ago. It got out of its cage tons of times and I think my cat eventually ate it or something.

lol vicious, and their bite really hurts it like slices your skin.

haha eaten!
i would never ever get a hamster/mouse/rat for a pet. I especially hate rats (disgusting, hideous etc.) They scurry around and just freak me out.
Cats - best :)

Wow. My friend had a hamster called Speedy. My sisters just died a few weeks ago. Had to bury the thing.
