Shall i get an iPod Video?

Well, i want some good and bad points..

At the moment i have a blue ipod mini, very old ;D

Its still newish not a scratch on it and i use it everyday - but i was looking for something to put some music videos and stuff on it. But then again, it may be too big and heavy to carry around.

also, when will i have the time to watch films/shows/music on it? Hmm, so many things to consider; what do you guys think?

Good:-
They are easy to update and maintain and can play MP4's.
Come with a case.
Holds lots of songs

Bad:-

They scratch off something like a fingernail.
They crach a lot
I have had 12 so far and they have all broke.

Just a tip, get insurance on it. You'll be fine but get one !

Personally If you are looking for an iPod get the new Nano

Everyone will be like woa he has the new nano and you will be cool. :)

But if you really want to watch videos then get the iPod video because it was also recently updated.

Or if you are not in a rush you can waite for the next wave of iPods which might take a while.

I personally myself wouldn't get an iPod video , because I can't see myself using the video capacity , I would just get a nano and same Expedition , I have had my mini for a year and a half and its been great :D they have basically made the iPod minis again with those new nanos

I have a Zen Vision W (Ordered it from Singapore) and i've also had an ipod nano, 1st gen ipod and a Zen Neeon. I find that creative are so much more reliable, i've never had problems with either of my Zens. Where as, the screen on my nano cracked when it fell off the table which wasn't even a foot tall. And my first gen lasted me a year and a half then the battery started dieing and the files corrupted. In my opinion, ipods are more trouble than they're worth. The only decent ipod is the mini.

Don't get an iPod Video. Very much not worth it at the moment, the screen is too small. I'd hold out until the rumoured 'true iPod video' comes out. It's summosed to have a full-length screen (takes up the whole face of the iPod) which also functions as a touch-screen.

Just don't get a Zune. Good idea, but badly executed. I think they look awful.

Never been tempted by Creative; I like the whole package that you get with the iPod - iTunes, ITMS, easy syncing.

My brother has an ipod video and its really hard to use. All his songs have been erased off it for no reason at least 3 times, it errors a lot, and the battery is really bad.

I only got the Video because it has a bigger memory for songs.
iTunes deleted my songs twice.
Luckily on the second occasion I had a backup.
So, I don't know; just get the right player for you.

The Zen's UI is harder to use when juxtaposed with the iPod UI. Also, the Clickwheel on the iPod makes navigating around very simple and quick.

Personally, I don't enjoy watching movies on handhelds. It may be convenient, but it's no use since you're really only experiencing about 30% of the movie.
But enough about me..! x]

The iPod Video has received a pretty good upgrade now. These upgrades are pretty new, so anyone that got an iPod Video earlier this year (me. ;.; ) doesn't have these features:

- Screen is 60% brighter
- Improved Battery life: 20 hours of music or 6.5 hours of video.
- New Search feature
- New downloadable games

- iPod Video got a price drop

Personally, I prefer the iPod because of the ease of use. It lacks other functionality (FM Radio, etc.), but I enjoy it because the sound quality is far superior than any other handheld I've used, and that's a pretty big selling point in my book.

ohhh I remmeber when I got my ipod nano I ordered it off the apple website it came all the way from china and in such a little box I opened it and there it was my baby in all its beauty and splenda it was soo cool it even had my name engraved onto the back I was so scared of picking it up incase it snapped it was so tiny! it also had that really awsome shinyness which I loved.

Then again, mobiles these days are becoming more and more the universal gadget, minus the storage space my mobile can pretty much do everything there capable, plus working as a mobile, and a pretty decent digi cam *stops to stroke phone for a bit*

Assuming the user isnt a complete idiot, I dont think either iPod or Creative's interfaces are hard to use. Once you know, you know, and theyre both equal. And creative has a straight line touch so you scroll up and down as opposed to clockwise and counterclockwise. I dont think the interface is really a plus on either side to be honest, both are simple.
