We did it! But as people can't give you the total answer all I can give is some hints.
Think mainly on the subject of Crooks, there is more, but I don't want to give too much away ;)

My cousin read the book and thought it was great.

I'm in year 11 or 12 (not sure what you people in England class it as hehe), and I'm reading The Cone Gatherers.

It has roughly the same storyline, but is much more advanced and the ideas and characters are more developed. :]

mmhmm.

Year 11 in England is last year of GCSE basically your last year or school and then 12 and 13 in England are 6Form.

check out this website (http://www.ac.wwu.edu/~stephan/Steinbeck/mice.html), it sums up each chapter and has notes on characters.. very useful!

Its mostly about Euthanasia (killing someone for mercy. Such as killing a dog after it gets hit by a car and you know it cant survive). The ending where Lenny gets shot is obviously one example, but also when they shoot that old dog because it was so tired and unhappy.

Heh done this, it was quite good. The film was ok, but it wasnt as good as the book, like most book to movie conversions... I did Holes too, im on Romeo & Juliet right now, next term is Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. That'll be good. Its quite easy once you see.. Ill just comment on the Racism of it, and the disability. You figure out the rest.

I have done 1,196 words but theres a 2,000 word minimum so quite a bit to go, should be done by the end of the day tho!!

(and no, i didnt count the words, i used microsoft word count, and yes i took away the words in the title.)

my essay question is:

How does Steinbeck’s presentation of the ‘weak’ characters in ‘Of Mice and Men’ reflect the hardships of depression-era ranch life?
