Okay I do music, take lessons and singing choir at school.
Ive been in school productions, preformance nights, and a fair few other things to do with singing.
My music teacher said to our class that he expect everyone to preform at an assembley more than once during the next year and a 1/4 most people have and ive been asked before. The problem is that it scares the hell out of me, being on stage alone infront of the whole school. Everyone thinks im confident and okay with it, any advice on how it avoid or cope with the problem?

know what your going to do, be sure what your doing, do not doubt yourself and you will succeed this helps with having stage fright aswel..

Maybe you could go on stage with a partner or a friend, and not solo?

And as Max said, know what you're doing. Practice at home and make sure your comfortable with what you're going to do.

It can be tough, but I guarantee 100% that when its over, you'll be wondering why the hell you were nervous in the first place.

Aw, just go for it!

It's normal to experience a wee bit of stage fright and get nervous before performing to people, but once you start you'll love the feeling and enjoy yourself. I am speaking from experience here!

I had to do something similair, and you've know idea how nervous and stuff I was about it, but once I got going I abosoloutley loved it and enjoyed myself so much, and don't regret one thing about doing it. That whole buzz and just general feeling you get is worth it all in itself!

I think, if you just learn you whole routine or whatever and know it well, then just get up on that stage and don't care about what other people think, you'll be fine!

Just do it for yourself, and most importantly enjoy yourself! :]

Yeh i know what you mean.
Im always on stage, because i love it basically.

But even if you feel unconfident just push yourself on and soon as you know you cant go back you start to calm.

It aint that bad one you have started.

Thanks for all your advice guys.

Its mainly the whole solo thing infront of the school that freaks me out. I'll try singing with my friend first. Ive preformed solo infront of a 200 people at a language thing singing, its different when its your peers.

School goes back in 4 days so I'll work on making my friend sing. I'll update you on how it goes.
