Hi Guys & Gals!,
I just want to ask a quick question about what requirements i would need for a dedi or possibly a vps to run shoutcast servers. This server will be dedicated just for SHOUTcast and will not have any hosting or any other things on it. Also how much bandwidth would i be looking at as i know shoutcast does take alot, i was looking at 100GB Bandwidth but i really feel that it would not be enough. Heres the server i was looking at getting...

P4 2.8 GHz HT (266 MHz Guaranteeded)
64 MB Ram
128 MB Swap Space

Would this be good enough or would i possibly need to be aiming higher? I think i would need more ram tbh what you guys thing?

Cheers for your help ;)

Ive spoken to many webhosts they all reccomend:

At Least P3 800MHZ Or AMD Sempron/Athlon 2400+
For non buffering streams 512MB RAM
about 5GB Space but most come with at least 80GB
Software: Apache and MYSQL No Hosting CP
Cast Control or if your clever you can do by SSH
at least 1000gb Bandwidth
Should cost between £20-£50+ a month for a server

I would recommend:

https://order.layeredtech.com/servers.lt?categoryId=4 (L2-AMD-BARTON-3000-C)

I have used layedtech loads of times and have had good experience with them. They are very cheap as well (That one is about £45 per month).
