Stop swelling?

I've had two new piercing today, and they are sore & kind of swollen.

Any ideas on how to stop/keep down the swelling and stop the pain? I've had my lip pierced, which i'm not as bothered about because i've had it before, and my ear done (scaffolding) which is really sore & the guy said its going to swell up a bit, i wanna keep it down and stop the soreness as i have college & i don't wanna look badder then i already do. So, ideas?

Salt water soaking (which the piercer should have told you anyway) is probably the best thing. For oral piercings there are also some pill things available which you just keep in your mouth and they dissolve and supposedly help, don't know where you'd get the though, mine I got off the piercer when I got my tongue done. As for scaffold.. ouch! Not going down any time soon, but again, salt water.
