A new layout

I've made another layout tonight, its used the same idea of the one I made this morning which you can see HERE. (http://www.freewebs.com/inme/testing.html)

But the new layout I have just made is here.

- Don't go to heavy on the gradients. Some gradients, like yours, just over-power the whole layout style. Use two colour closer together in the colour spectrum - or lower the opacity of the gradient.

Cheers for the tips, yeah I use photoshop.
Taking both of your advice I've now come up with this:

The 2nd one is much better. But there are still a few things you have to work on:

¬ The main font in the banner. It looks terrible and does not fit in well with the rest of the design.

¬ The outer glow. Effects can make the boring, dull layout look like a professional one, if used in exactly the correct quantity. The glow looks slightly out of place as the design itself is much simpler. I would suggest lowering the opacity of the glow.

But overall it is quite good and it looks like your improving. When I just started out designing my designs were no where near the quality of that.

Remember to keep trying and to learn from tutorials.
