after finally configuring a few things correctly and finally getting my hands on a copy of castcontrol (stupid delete key)
i'm now once again able to provide shoutcast hosting but i don't want to put it on sale to the general public just yet
for roughly 1 week i need a few people to randomly connect to servers and broadcast random rubbish and have a few listeners
after the week i'd like theese testers to contact me with problems they had
(connecting , lag , errors , downtime etc etc etc etc etc)
10 Placements (All will recieve shoutcast server to play around with for upto a week then depending on outcome of test will be allowed to keep the server until notice is given)
Please PM Me :)
Many Thanks
Lycan

so far the only report i've had is that it doesn't work
so
can anyone use the following information to attempt to connect to one of them
Ip shout07.no-ip.info
Port 8010
Pass testuser6
(sorry for double post, passed the time limit for editing - so don't you dare give me an infraction!)

Erm, Your hosting it on your home computer...mad idea...
You need atleast a 100mbps internet uplink to provide a decent speed.
Good luck mate, I guess :P

i'm hosting it on a window 2003 server spec :)
my uplink is not of your concern and if you bother to read it, the next week is to determin lag speed etc etc :) things can be configured to make it run faster :)

Doesnt really matter how fast the server is or what OS is on it, I know its for testing...but I can tell you now that the performance will be awful on a home server with an average broadband connection.

Thankyou for your concern but i do no what i'm doing and i do no the limits of an broadband connection. the project itself is for college where the server will be placed connected to the campus fibreoptic connection ..
anything else?

What connection is it on ? I.E: LAN, WLAN, HardWired ?
LAN Worls best for me.

currently its on a lan connection in my own home (which is broadcasting to the internet)... as stated above... wireless would make things worse and make it impossible for me to predict averages
the college fibre optic which runs from southwest to southwest runs next to the fibre optic that connections the united kingdom war office with the american waroffice
I'm looking for people to test the config to see if its working and to repot problems so i can work at minimum required speed etc
is this so hard to ask

You can use the information i quoted above ( the testuser6) or send me a pm if you want another (for example testuser7)
At the momment i've only had reports that it doesn't work but without knowing more detail i can't help
