Did anyone see the documentary the other day called "unwelcome britan"?
Well it was basicly a debate on how britan seems to be allowing people from all over the world into the countries, people got annoyed bby this because they fill the streets eat the food and steal the jobs (says the protesters)
What do you think?

Well i didn't watch it, but watching the Preview of it kind of gave me the idea of what my opinion anyway.
Really at our Age 10-16 (estimation lol)
It doesn't really effect us, as we don't have 'Proper' Jobs, but maybe as we gradually get older we may think about it alot more.
My overall opinion would be to let people in, maybe not too many.

Disagree with protesters. Everyone has to live somewhere. As long as it isnt killing anyone, I dont care
Dave,

This may sound racists, but I don't think it is right for them to come into our country and then have government money being spent on building their places of worship, this money could be spent on improving the British services such as schools, hospitals and transport. Also like the story in France of the religious head scarf being banned, they should follow our dress code and our rules, British children aren't allowed hats in schools so why should they?

To sum up my opinion, I would be very happy to welcome people into the country who have the right skills and qualifications to positively contribute to the workforce, but people who are just coming here to claim benefits and sap our economy are not welcome.
Edit: Dave, that head scalf topic is quite interesting but discussing it would be diverging from this topic, maybe start a new thread on it.
Dave,

Thats mainly my views as well and also what I posted above.

I agree with Concentric. If there is a need for binmen (random job) and a turkish (random country person) man who was an expert in binology (the study of bins) came, I'd welcome him with open arms...
...I bet he knows the exact way to attach a wheeleybin to a wheeleybin truck...
Anywho, the people who come in, live off benefit and cause trouble and mayhem shouldn't be let in. For the right to live in our country (I speak the royal our - our = the people) they should follow the rules.
i agree with this, they take our jobs :@
Dave,
08-03-2005, 07:54 PM
Nah they don't, most jobs steroetypically are taxi drivers, corner shop owners and bin men, most people don't want those jobs.

I believe that we should not be taking any more people in this country! This is affecting lots of our british culture and changing it way too much. People are becoming to come in England for a easy living and this is causing wages to go down. My Father is now in a major problem now causing us to sell our possetions and possibly leaving our house! Its not fair! The health service is dropping because our taxes are supposed to go to our health service and whats happening is that people are coming into the country with Hepititus that we are giving treatment to and for free! (true I found out at school) My father has a major problem and has to get it done privatly! We Pay for the NHS And a lot of imigrant are getting the treatment! Also Doctors from other countrys are becoming more employed than english! People are building more and more houses over our land causing a bad effect on wildlife. We cant be continuing this way when other people from other countrys are getting more for them than us! I admit I am a rasist but not in a skin colour way. Personally we need the world to drop in population. Sorry guys but its a serious issue.
Dave,
08-03-2005, 08:16 PM
Actaully we need these new people because of the declining population of Britain, less babies are being born each year, did you know about 700 000 teachers lost their job because of the lack of new children starting school. We need more people. But people who can help us and not live of the tax payers money.

Is this in the UK? Teachers are available all around the world. I know this sounds terrible but we need people to die to help the enviroment.

What are you on about, obviously there are teachers all around the world, read my post again, take it in and then understand it ;)
And humans don't need to die to help the environment, thats just stupid.

They have the right to come in this country but it is already to full anyway, there is no room! Also terrorism comes into this section also as Muslic or anything to do with Al Qaeda are suspicious as they are from the country and religion the Terrorists originate from
Dave,

This country isn't full, the population is gradually declining. And terrorist mostly come from the Midle East. Most people wanting to live in this country have come from India, its only recently they have come from these other areas.

I'm sorry but that's rubbish, it isn't a god given right to be able to enter the country, we have the right to say who enters the country. And "terrorists" would enter the country anyway, they have enough financial backing from their terrorism organisation to fly in from another country and have places booked to stay in etc.

I love it in aussie land! Nice people and brilliant animals. Much better than England in my view. I have to say I originated from australlia and I would like to go back. Sorry guys but I think Id rather live in Australlia than England. Dont you?

We are the 3rd or 4th richest country in the world, so people want to come here, we don't have tight immigration laws so it is easy to get in. I would like to live in Austrailia as well.

We have a similar problem in Canada. We have many foreigners that try to come into our country, and because we have such a borad boreder, we get MANY illegal immigrants. I, personally would set a fine limit on the amount of people coming in. The United Kingdom is small (Comparable to Canada and the USA), yet have a greater population than Canada. I'd agree with someone aboves statemene: If they are coming in just to rip some people off to have a good living, they shouldnt be coming in.
Dave,
08-03-2005, 10:02 PM
Canada also has a population problem, it has a low population for the size of the country. I don't mind people coming in but it would be better if it wasn't just people from the Midle East.
Did you know China's population was so out of hand they had to limmit it to one child per couple.

I personly support a "let em all in" policy as the bbc called it. People who complin it takes there jobs, are just to lazy or stupid to do them, they would be picked over forign workers if they actaly applied. Where suffering crisis becuse of lack of teachers and doctors, and when people form other contris work here to help sopme idots seem to thinki there pushing doctors from here out. Britans been invaded at some time or other by vertal every contry even remotly near, its always been a mix, and a multi cutral sisitety is a good thing in IMO
*was to lazy to read most other posts in topic*
Well who can forget alig's words in his film when a group of politicians are talking about how to decrease the amount of immigrants entering the country?
AliG: What have we not got enough of in britain?
Politic: Nurses?
AliG: nah
Politic2: education
AliG: not quite
Politic: what then?
AliG: buff women! we let the buff girls in and turn away the *****rs*

I personally think that in some cases i wouldnt let "them" in because if they speak no english and haveto live off goverment money (taxes) that could be used for many other things and looking at my school it really could be used for improving schools and public area's

Which is a large misconseption, appart from the fact its nerly immposible for a forginer to get benifits, there are VERY few who do, as they dont come here to be poor, only the workers uselay come here, as a low payed job here is medum wage often in there home contriy, they will work here, then leave, meaing they input to the community, and take next to nothing.
If people always moved to where the mony is, wount people all flock to london?
When poland was added to eroup people were supply exscting 1000's moving in, im not even shure aboev a 100 came, would you leave fro america just b ecuse you heared you could get a slightly better job? i personly doubt the majory would.

Its cheeper, but keep in mind you loose the free health cair, so if you get ingered your stuck, plus they have a far lower benits system so if your poor there, its far worse than poor here.
Athogh even with good pay people are very unlikly to m ove to somewhere where they cant speack the landgwage.

This is not very representative evidence - the reason that Luxembourg is at the top is that it's such a small country with only major cities, that the GDP is very large on average. In places like the United States, you get far more wealthy cities like New York, but then the average is brought down by the millions of smaller towns with very poor GDP.
they do all the jobs nobody wants to do so i see nothing wrong with it. if there was a huge number of keen british doctors im sure they would fill the hospitals but theres not. i think if we took away everyone that had foreign blood, i think there would be hardly anyone left.
can i just say about the polish immigration thing, dont say that hardly any polish came to england because thats a lie. where i live there are practically whole polish communites.

True, but the point of posting that chart was to point out that the UK is not even close to being 3rd. So, even if you left Luxembourg out, the data would still prove my point. Most of the other countries are quite large (I don't know about San Marino), so this wouldnt make a great difference.

That's not true, luxemburg has lots of european institutes and 224 DIFFERENT banks from all over the world, that's why luxemburg is this rich, and america is spending to much money in war (well bush is) so that will take down their budget.
Basically, they come to our already over populated country, take the homes which we are short of, eat the food which people on our streets could have, use the fascilitys, buildings and other things that have taken us generations to develope.
If we keep letting people into britian we are going to turn into america but the difference is that we are a SMALL island which compairs as next to nothing with some countrys which means some people are gonna be forces out. And since the foregners are moving in guess who will move out :|

america dont let people in, there borders are tighter than ours.
People will only move in if there are jobs avilable, which there are, if people just wnat to go get a job easy with no competition, like some people want, all i think that would result in is teh job being at a sub stand class. Ifs theres competition people will work harder and it will over all benift the contry, so with it many of the people today may actaly be able to fafored a decent pention when there old, becuse at currnt levles all they can do is rase the working age in an ttempt to pay for them.
