Hello People.

I have made this thread so that people can keep on adding to it. We need Web Design JARGON. Things like... html.

<--------START EXAMPLE---------------->

HTML - Hypertext Markup Language
HTML is commonly used when building websites. It can be used to do extremely basic stuff such as changing text size,colour.
Here is a html commands:

Opening Tag Closing Tag Description
<Marquee> </marquee> Makes text Scrol

<--------CLOSE EXAMPLE---------------->

You get what i mean? So if we keep adding to this list, newcomers to web design will be able to understand instead of going to us "OMGZZZ HOW TO I CODE MY FORUM IN THE HTML CODE"
(No Offence)

ALSO (+REP ANYTHING YOU LIKE ;))

lets give it a go anyway.

PRESENT IT LIKE I DO Plz ;) \/\/\/\/\/

<--------Bit Of Web Design Jargon---------------->

WHM - Web Design Manager
A common hosting management tool (Reseller, Dedicated Servers)

Cpanel - Website Control Panel
By the makers of WHM. Cpanel is used to manage your site. It is extremely easy to use. Also it allows you to add emails etc.

<--------End Web Design Jargon---------------->

Thanks J-Rap

I hate everyone who thinks because it is well known then it is the leading many forums use IPB or even free phpBB.

AJAX isn't really new anymore apart from XMLHttpRequest got more support as the DOM was already about as was XHTML, XML remodulization and what not Javascript / ECMAScript was becoming less and less obtrusive thanks to Document Object Model and Garrett I think it was made AJAX out of all this with some crazy *** Hierchy.

Check http://www.sitepoint.com 's video introduction to AJAX as that explains all of the crap which nobody really wants to here about except uber nerds.

But, IPB 2.x is more advanced than vbulliten. Phpbb Is probably equal with its latest beta, of the 3.0 model, Every Ajax forum is more advanced, and so are most custom ones... So its no where near more advanced than its competition? nore is it more popular...

***? techtuts is not jargon? its a crap, almost unheard of little site, with a few inferior quality tutorials on it??

Any cookies are ONLY used to store data? what the hell else can somthing conceivably store? The data is in simple text format and isolated from the rest of the pc, so its safe, Pretty much every system which wants to remeber somthing on the web uses them, this very forum probably has about 5 set "/
