School atm is pointless?

Hi,

Well OMG, on Friday i went in thinking it would be a normal boring day. Instead i sat thru the whole day doing nothing at all in school just watching videos what was commedy. Whats the point of being in school on the last day if you dont do anything?

Also why the hell PINK day. Im bi and i hate Pink even if 'it is for gays' I hate pink i only have one pink ship and im not wearing it just cause school is making you.

Also people complain you dont do your work in school, on Monday I had this last 2 period and we got called in for a Motivation Man....Excuse me? Yes no work on that day either

OMG also in year 7,8,9 why do we learn French, Spanish and German when 15/16 wont take it. Its compeltely stupid, wasting another 3 years of my life on RE and other languages OMG

without an education, you won't go far in life. i don't like school, but i still go cos i want a good job in life, and to get a good future, you need an education. so its not really pointless tbh.

Yup, I agree. I don't particually like school but I put up with it. If I don't then i'll get nowhere (sp?) in life.

so on the last day of school, you'd rather spend all day doing work? its just to reward you for working hard in the term.

i'd say there'd be about a 98% chance that in some time of your life that the languages you learn would become some use. so its good thing to know atleast one other language other than english.

I know it's cliché but school is the best time of your life. I only left last year and I already wish I was back there. Don't make the mistake of going through school wishing you weren't there, you'll miss all the fun.

True i left school this year, But i didn't have to leave i could have stayed on for one more year but i didn't because the subjects i was doing i wasn't learning anything new so it was rather pointless at being at school thats why earlier i said it was pointless. I do wish i was back at school mind you but now am in the working world aswell as at college :rolleyes:

To be on honest if the school said you don't have to come in on the last day of school then the day before would then be the last day so you would still watch videos but on the day before

School is amazing! I love it! I love learning new things everyday and the fact that no one day is ever the same. On your own life can be routine, predicatable. Your family will always be the same or you will know their moods but in school it's like 1900 other people who you don't know so well interacting. It's the ultimate big brother.. without cameras... I hope.

How can we appreciate the good things in life without going through the bad? Sometimes it might seems pointless and stupid, but you'll always get that all the way through your life. Just do it and then celebrate the good times.

Be glad your school offers languages. Mine offers french the rest are by correspondance. If I want to do one for my HSC I have to pay for it MYSELF and its by correspondance so I would be sending work to Sydney which is about 7 hours from where I live by car.

Make the most of the opportunities that your school gives you. Maybe if you contributed and joined in activies it would be more enjoyable. Videos may seem boring but when you have 2hour exams and 8 weeks to finnish 2 major works you will be wanting a rest!

I hate it when people say in math say "Why do we need this, there's something called the calculator". We learn stuff without calculators because we are trying to prevent the dumbing of society. Its already happening actually. Technology is progressing faster than intelligence, which is dangerous. People are becoming so dependent on it, which is actually making everyone stupid. Imagine if cell phones one night were all of a sudden taken away. Everyone would go insane and not know what to do. But 20 years ago, there was no such thing as a cell phone and people got by fine. We're going backwards.

Anyway, yeah, you learn tons of useless stuff in school. But the reason for that is litterally, to expand your brain. The years when your brain develops are key. If you dont use certain parts of your brain when it develops, you'll never be able to use it. So it may seem pointless and youll never use it, but it actually does help you in other areas.

I personaly love school Mrs.McCall basicly summed up why lol, but also you can be anyone you like when you are in school. plus you meet lots of cool people.

well im in yr 8 set 1, we have to do 2 languages (french & italian) as were set 1. I have to say this years work is alot more challenging than last years. Seriously how can you say schools pointless? Hey everyday of my school life I say I hate school but I have to go and at the end of the day I enjoy it. There is a few people who spoil it for the rest but I just get on with what im supposed to be doing. As some people have previously said about the watching the videos on the last day, lucky you we had half - term exams, which I failed my english one surprise surprise seeing my English teacher has some what thing against me and ignores me everytime i seek or help or advice. Anyway, just enjoy school yeh some lesson may be a bit plain but yeh thats life.

Im not saying have a last day fun, why dont we just work and then instead of having them fun days have the vacation on that day on the day before do work. So you dont get fun days instead have more days of :]

Most days seem pointless but in the long run, school really isn't pointless at all.

I remember one day during winter when I was at school it was really smowy and icy but the school wasn't closed for the day. Only about 100 people attended out of around 1,000 students. We still had to stay. We weren't allowed home. Our lessons were made up of nothing all day because there weren't enough students to have a proper lesson. THAT was pointless. :p

Hmmmm, I do agree about the last day of school or terms a bit pointless... Nothing else to say really! You could be doing something more useful :P I missed the last day of school once, I think it was Year 8. The car came off the road after heavy rain and this was late at night, so we ended up not going in (We being, me and my brothers).

The harder you work at school now, the easier the rest of your life will be so put attention into those boring videos. They make looking boring and pointless but one day a fact you learnt from that video may come in handy (Unless it was non-educational).
