Most of the designs evolve around images, not unique but a decent design standard.
@ Lite: Yes - because it's one network :)
@ James: Any idea on how to improve them?

As soon as I viewed them it reminded me of:

Yeha, and it should do.
It inspired me ;)

Designs, such as the ones above are used extensively across the design network, uses images as the structure is used widely by designers. Singularity doesn't surprise me, as most image structured designs follow the same code of conduct.
So, unique'ness and the devlopers style is needed in a portfolio?
And what your saying that each part of the network needs a different style?

A certain individual style is needed in your portfolio, yes.
And if you "getting inspiration from them" I think they could have been a little better than what you made
Sorry

Yes but if you compare the 2 designs....
You cant just copy a design and add nothing
Over-looking them again, in my view they're to simple.
Thanks for your views.
Joe, have yourself got a portoflio bar primals?

I know if I dont have one, I shouldnt critise, but I am, so there!
I have a few bad examples of portfolio layouts
http://www.****************/uploads/556faef677.png
Theres more somewhere
Thats quite a bad example actually -I mean, it has to say something about you, and not about the person your taking inspiration off
I wasn't emphasising that point, I was just seeing if it did revolve around yourself and your style.
From that layout - I can see the 'Joe' inside it.

I think it does - Its a clean deisgn with modern colours.
Yours was black, and didnt reflect what the majority of your work is about :)

nice, minimalist style works for the first pages, but doesnt with any of the others, they end up with a over packed and tacky feel due to the stylaistion your useing.
if you want to have that unquie look, your going to have to come up with a more unquie navagation and apprach to presntation than your useing, the standard layout your useing just doesnt fit it "/
That said, if you were to work on the layout and presentaion aspects for the content, the style could lend itself to a pretty impressive looking portfolio site "/ this sort of design could benifit from flash in some arias as well, which would allow added flexiblty in how naviagation may be able to operate, beoned whats normal/standard.
Portfolios imo should realy be unqiue and diffent from regular work "/

But if your portfolio is black and techy, and you only make clean, modern designs, then thats not the best portoflio to use, is it?

I duno, a good webdesigner should realy be able to do both? showing he can isnt a bad thing "/
Clean designs can be black and techy.
As long as it's not over-crowded and it's easy on the eyes as someone said - I think that's classed as a clean layout.
Clean doesn't just mean minimilistic designs - although that seems to be the case.
Anywho - the majority of my work has been on Habbo designs and therefore I struggle when it comes to designing my own portfolio.

Loving the second and last layout, although I tend to agree with everyone that the layouts all look the same and look more of a square then a layout-Maybe split into boxes, colums, make the banner at the top look more like a banner, then add a linksbar with some content, and it would look much better;)
All layouts are ment to be the same because it's part of the same network.
