Hello,

After a short break i disided to make a old pirateship.
I'm gonna post my work in progress here.

First a've made a cannon, thn i changed the collers of a lodge bar.

really great work i love the cannon,
some tips:
-the ship looks to edgy and metallic
-maby make the ship a bit bigger so you could staris to have a navigationwheel on top of the captains quarters and sailpoles(? my english is bad so i made a guess :P)
-The cargohole lid looks like metal and that doesnt look right
-Maby make it higher so people can fit inside it with cannons and stuff.

Its just tips how to make it even greater, dont take it as an insult but I always want creativecritisism so I can learn. You dont have to do the things im talking about cause its already great but if you really want to impress at leaaast you can try ;) keep up the good work ;)

the end bit of the cannon (where it shoots out of) seems wierd, try adding more shading and the sails' have too many black lines in.

The water looks too Copy/pasted. I don't know how to fix it though? Perhaps only have water around the bottom, and not as the entire background?
The roof of the cabin desperately needs something on it, it looks kinder plain and lets the piece down.

So, I'm a bit further now :P
I made some shadows under some characters and the canon, the roof has more shadow too.
And I removed some waves on the background and added some detail on those wooden pilars :D

I made a anker and an flag, but i'm not sure about that :P

Im not shure how you call it in English, but the thing where the flag is placed on should be alot longer. Also you can see a small piece of the anker under the water.. :( Ofcourse it needs alot more ropes etc. but I think its going to be messy than. so keep it this way..
Could you try to make a wood pattern on the green part of the ship just like you did with the deck but a bit less detailed??
You also can add a mermaid in the water.. Check my sea alt for an example :p
BTW with what program do you work??
The ropes on the right arnt straight and that doesnt look very nice.. You could easily fix that..

Wow for paint this is great! I allmost thought you had done it in photoshop cos this is soo great!!!
However I made an example on how to fix those ropes. If you want you may just copy it to your work :p, but this is how I think its bether..

BTW I now see that they where straigt in the second step, in the first they did not exist and from on the third they became like they are now.. Maybe its because of the smooth edited lodge bars that it changed..

Some things i thaugt about

Change the black lines in the sail to dark brown lines

The jolly roger on the flag is not following the flags movements

The holes/windows for under deck maby should have different things inside...

An anchor roll (to lift up the anchor)

Straighten up the lines on the backside of the sailpole(?)

Some barrels of gunpowder would be needed to fire that cannon ;)

The hole where the cannonball should pass trough looks a bit wierd try to reangel it.

The stairs... are they laquerd? they dont look so good with a shiny surfice

change the floor where the captain stands.

The ropes needs to be bent by the railing(?)

The ropes needs to be seen behind the railing

the ring where the rope sits looks a bit strange are you sure about the angles on thatone

Maby some more ropes

Maby put a climbingnet so they could reach the sails

The pillar is horrible, I dont know why.
Not only does it not fit on the ship, but it looks unnatural and
does not fit with the ship. The whole ship is shaped too unaturally

ships are usually more aerodynamic. So they arent like an arrow.
The bottom is too flat and it looks nothing like a ship.

Why should a ship that is made to capture as much of the wind as possible be aerodynamic?
The part thats in sealevel should be more aquadynamic maby but the ship should take much room so the wind hits it...
