May I also suggest that you toddle along to an opticions as can you not see that there is a 'Forum Designing' section which all vBulleting, IPB, phpBB related questions go in...

Also if you say your going to code Lingo then what application are you going to use and what means?

So you are making a chat which will cost a lot of money to run but you wont splash out on a vb. LIER LIER PLANTS FOR HIRE

If you are making a chat, you should atleast splash out on a forum. I highly doubt you will be making a chat but who am I to say "IT ISN'T GOING TO WORK"

Feel free to prove me wrong :)

*Makes a uber Java chat which all you can do is say words but not move*

That would be the extent of my Java programming, as for Lingo I wouldn't be able to do Hello World application as I don't own Director or anything :eusa_wall

The reason being i do not wish to spend on a vbulletin forum is because it costs too much money just for a forum you post on, and if i do that then there will only be a little bit of money remaining for me to spend on the chat itself.

And the chat will be made by me and other programmers who i know, so that wont cost much considering we can make the BETA etc, but as we move in to the future, we might need to seek professional help from a company to help us make the multi-user client work properly.

anyway, why dont you guys stop being "another wannabe chat hahaha" so gay that is, how do you know it will not work, for all you know we might actually make it work, and when we do and if we do get it up completely, you will be so stupid to say that.

You have just confirmed my suspicions that you are indeed another 'wannabe' by using the term 'gay' in that sense as you could think of something more mature to say.

I also notice that you avoid my question about which application you will use and what type of programming skills you will require. What applciation will it be designed for as well? Which client etc.

These isometric or avatar chats can cost so much money for servers, for maintenence etc so I would save up until your in Year 7 and perhaps ask you mother for some pocket money until your 18, in this time you can learn how to program and then attempt it..

Actually, I am 17 years old and is in college, unlike you, and i do not need to confirm anything with you I ingnored you for a reason, as you have no use to know what we use and all that.

I wont send you the url to look it all up for your self considering we have a few weeks back and one of you decided to steal it all, even though it is copyright protected.

o.O you are in college, we better believe that you can make this then.... If you answered my question in your own words you may have shown some potential but I guess not.

Everyone has use to know so they can get the client or whatever such as Shockwave or Java to run it.. Also you say you are going into BETA, was about Alpha.??

Well said Dan.

Agreed with Dan that you have dodged his question about the programming.

As for saying "thats gay". It confirmed my suspicion you are an immature youngster who has probably just entered year 6. You are a prime example of the rant in the other thread, someone wanting something for nothing.

Why do you need a forum for a online game?

It wont make it any better. You might aswell put more time into making the game.

Anyway i know abit of Lingo i have been using Macromedia Director for a while now.

Do you no how to do JavaScript Syntax?
or what about Operators?

Any the nly other person i would guess to know Lingo is George [Lite] as it is not much different to Flash.

Javascript is simple and easy especially with the DOM.. Operaters are included with every programming languages probably to solve mathematical queries ++==-* etc

True.

Anyway inside Director there is aload of features. And i have used hardly any of the features. To be honest to make a game is very hard, I think it will take you about 2/3 years to be able to bring it into testing. Also you might be able to afford a vbulletin, a dedi, the software but would you be able to afford people to do pixel work

If the pixel work looks crap NO one would go on it to waste there time.

Another thing why start work on the site when its no work has started on it. Why even think about a website before any work gets started on it.

Would you be able to afford people to do some of the Lingo?
Would you be able to get people to manage it so the server doesnt over load and crash.

1 - Me and a few other people have a few hundred to spend, and other than that we can make the BETA versions all that our selfs, as we are expierenced with it, and have done a few tests already.

2 - We have 3 servers, and we have a techi who knows how to handle servers.

3 - We have started work on the project already, we have a few graphics made by myself and friends, other than that we have hired professionals to do them, we have a few made already such has the bed, fire place, sofas, lamps, rooms however, we are needing more than that like better room types.

We are in the early stages of developing this.

Somehow I don't believe you.

You and your mates have a few hundred to spend on... something that's not even going to take off the ground?

It doesn't just have to be in Lingo, you can do it in C++ offline, Java and a few others.. Build it as a Win32 application and get owned please =]

Why do it in lingo when the language is quickly becoming redundant. Flash now has these kind of server capabilities eg http://www.theoworlds.com/avatar/
