1. Using the section IDs.
The Section IDs are the capitol letters inside | |s. In this section it is |HLP|. Press Ctrl + F, this will open up a box (In Internet Explorer) or a toolbar (In FireFox). Type in the section ID and press find. This will take you directly to the desired section. It’s quick and easy navigation.
2. Plagarists
I will find where you post this guide. I will get it removed. I will get you banned from the forum you posted it at. I will get your IP. I will sign your email up for gay ****. I will IP Trace you. I will spam your mailbox. I will...place your ip in places which are frequented by hackers, coincidently. So don't do it.
3. Foul Language
This guide contains some language that you may not deem suitable for a game like this. Well I’m telling you, I don’t care how up-tight you are, this is my opinion, and if you are easily offended, close this window out now, save me the time of pointing out why you are a moron for posting what you posted.
4. Selling on the Forums
When I say sell something on forums, don’t worry even if you are a non-member, all you have to do is read the forum topics, and private message the person buying.

-Note:- I have gotten constant IMs asking me for free [Expletive Deleted]! I will make this VERY VERY clear. If you contact me, AT ALL, asking for free [Expletive Deleted], I WILL CURSE AT YOU. Considering how young most of you are, I'll teach you some new and harsh words if you start begging.
3. You MAY contact me if you have some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism or ideas for my guide. I will take all opinions with an open mind, and change any mistakes in this guide. To a point. |F2PL| For The Non-Members With Low Levels |F2PL|
(Authors Note: This section of the guide will help any person with making money, and these ideas will not be repeated in further sections.)
At this section of the guide it is assumed that you have no money, and very bad armor/stats.
1. Feathers
This is possibly the most basic way of making money on earth. Go to a chicken coop, there are many scattered across the runescape world, but the most popular one is south of Varrock, north of Lumbridge. Go there with the best weapon you have, and since these chickens are really bad at fighting back (They are farm animals, what do you expect?) armor is really optional. Kill many, many chickens and collect all the feathers they drop. You can collect and bury the bones if you please, it’s prayer xp, albeit little xp. Collect at least 5k (5,000) feathers before moving on. This is important though, do NOT sell to the people at the chicken coop who are buying feathers for 3, 5, or even 8 gp each. These people prey on newbies to make a quick buck. I know, I’m one of them. ~|~|(123J~I~N~D~R~A~K321)|~|~
Go to the Runescape Forums. It really doesn’t matter if you are a member, if you are, you can make your own topic, if not, click the ‘Thread Finder’ link at the top. Look for people buying feathers for, this is important, 10 gp or higher each. Sell all the feathers you have. You should end up with 50k (50,000) gp+. This is enough to start your own business. Buy feathers from people at the coops for low prices (Be one of those people praying on people who pray on newbies like I said earlier.) Or you can buy feathers from the Port Sarim fishing shop. Never buy for more than 5 gp each, you won’t be making too much of a profit if you buy any higher. Once you have a decent amount, 5k or more (Feel free to stop whenever you like), repeat the selling method. You can keep doing this until your heart’s content. It’s a pretty good way to make money.
To see a more detailed guide to merchanting feathers, Blackworm25 has a good one.
2. Rune Essence
Complete the ‘Rune Mysteries’ quest. A good guide can be found at www.RuneHQ.com . After completing it go to Varrock. You should still have that bronze pick axe from tutorial island, withdraw it, equip it, and bank everything else. Now go to the Rune Shop, you should have met Aubury during your quest, and he runs the rune shop. Right click him and click ‘Teleport Aubury’. He will say some mumbo-jumbo and you will be teleported to a place where ‘Rune Essence’ (Blank Runes) can be mined. If you are a F2Per, you will mine Regular Rune Ess, which is used for basic, f2p runes. This is sold at about 30-40 GP each. Mine 1k, sell for 40k. Now, you can either continue mining, or merchant. Merchant by buying for 20-30 GP each, and selling at 35-40 GP each.
~|~|(123J~I~N~D~R~A~K321)|~|~
4. Big Bone Collecting
As a level 3, or around that level, you are granted a special power. Not too many people can attack you in the wilderness. Use this to your advantage. Bank all that you got, and go to the Varrock wilderness. Go out into the wild until about level 24 wilderness, if you see a river of lava and a chaos shrine, you are on the right track, just keep moving out. Now you should see a bone yard with skeletons and bones lying all around the place. Grab the iron scimitar from the respawn, just look around, for a little protection. Now start running in and out, attempting to avoid skeletons, collecting only the bones named ‘Big Bones’ once you get a reasonable amount in your inventory, run, and if you see someone who can attack you, RUN as fast as possible back to the bank and repeat, banking every time. You don’t need to go to forums to sell these, but you always can to try and find a better deal. Get 100 of these at least, and if you get 1k you’re in the money. Sell them for 300-500 gp each. The price might have changed, but I’m pretty sure it is still around 300-500 ea. If you're good, these are great to merchant. Sit in varrock west bank buying big bones for 200-300 each, sell for 350-500 each on the forums.
5. World 16 Air Running
This is a nice way, that doesn't pray on stupidity, on the other hand, you're actually helping people here. Do the rune mysteries quest, and take your air talisman and 25 unnoted ess to the air alter. It is south of falador, of course you can just follow the parade of people. Give the people there in robes/high levels your 25 unnoted ess, and they will give you 1k-2k gp, or 100 air runes + 25 noted regular ess. Do 100 runs, it's a good 100-200k!
(Guide is still under construction)
|F2PH| Non-Member High Levels |F2PH|
In addition to the ways listed above which work for every level, there are other wways that are only open if you have a certain level in something. Here they are, for non-member skills.
1. Mining
Minimum Lv: 15
Recommended Lv: 50
Big difference isn’t there? Yea well that’s because people from every mining level mine even low level ores. At level 15, you should be mining iron, place I recommend to do this is the scorpion put north of Al Kharid. Mine until level 45. You’ll obtain lots of iron, and ideally sell this on the forums for 100-125 each (100 is more probable). Iron isn’t the point of this whole money-making scheme though. The real cash crop of mining. Coal. All people need coal, from steel smithers, to runite smithers. I recommend having a lv of 45 and a rune pick before doing this, because otherwise you’ll be beat out by all the other miners. Even though there is still a large chance of being beaten at the recommended level. The best place for coal is Falador. Go to the east bank of Falador then continue going east. Once you reach the farthest possible eastern point, go north a little. You’ll see stairs. Go down them, you’ll plop right in the middle of the Dwarven Mines. Laiden with coal. Careful of the King Scorpions, they’re nasty at low levels. Mine all the coal there. Bank, and repeat until at least 500, 1k and higher is recommended. Sell on forums at at least 200 gp each. This should net a good deal of money. Now merchant coal and or iron. Buy iron off newbies for 10-50 gp each, obviously try to get the lowest. Buy coal for 100-125 each, once again, aim for 100 but it is getting harder and harder to buy for 100 lately. Once you have a good deal of either ore, 1k of each is recommended, sell on forums. Repeat.
~|~|(123J~I~N~D~R~A~K321)|~|~
2. Fishing
Minimum Lv: 40
Recommended Lv:50
Fishing is a good way to get money, all though, like most other ways, is very boring. It’s simple, once you have at least 40 fishing, your inventory should be like so:
1k Gp
1 Lobster Pot
1 TinderBox ‘ Optional
1 Hatchet ‘ Optional
1 Log ‘ Optional
The money is for rides to and from Karajama. Go to port sarim with your supplies, the look for the sailors in blue. Pay 30 coins for a ferry to Karajama (I said 1k just because it is good enough for many rides). Go to the docks, near the giant banana fields, and look for a spot that says ‘Cage Fishing Spot’. Fish lobbies until full, then either use your logs and tinderbox and create your own damn fire, or mooch off someone else’s (NOTE: Raw Lobsters sell for more than cooked, lately up to anywhere around 300-350 ea). Fish, bank, repeat. Dull, Monotonous, but good money. Get about 1k then sell on forums for 200-250 each. You don’t have to go on forums, but obviously, it is recommended. You can merchant lobsters by buying for 100 each, cooked or raw, then either cooking and selling or just selling. It’s recommended not to rely on your cooking skills at this point though. Pretty easy right?
3. Woodcutting
Recommended lv: 60
Time to chop dat wood! Whatever you are best at, cut those and bank them until you have 1k of them. Then sell at these prices:
Regulars: 25-50 Each (Easier to sell in members (fletching))
Oaks: Don’t even try, keep doing regulars.
Willows: 30-50 Each (Sell at draynor or world 1)
Maples (Members Only, Despite What The Skill Says): 100-150 Each (Sell at seers or highly populated world)
Bark: Useless, but you can get some morons for 500-1k each. A part of splitbark armor, but a very litte part, maybe .001%.
Yews: 250-300 Each (Sell in world 1/2)
Magics (Members only): 1k Each. (Sell at seers and high populated areas)
Merching Logs
This is a little harder than merching anything else.
Buy regulars by giving newbies off of tut island jobs at 10 gp each, then sell at price above.
Willows: Buy at 30, sell at 40.
Maples: Buy at 100, sell at 125-150.
Yews: Buy at 250, sell at 300.
Magics: Buy at 900, sell at 1k (hard to do)
~|~|(123J~I~N~D~R~A~K321)|~|~
4. Runecrafting:
Runecrafting in non members is a pretty hard task, because until a high level, produces no profit. The main profit is in multiple rune crafting.
Airs - Double (11) - Triple (22) - Quad (33) - x5 (44) - x6 (55) - x7 (66) - x8 (77) - x9 (88) - x10 (99)
Airs are the best multiple rune crafting. 28 Essence will cost about 1k, and with double, you'll be making about 1k (Since ess sells at 40 ea, and airs at 20 ea). Triple you'll make 1.5k, quad 2k, x5 2.5k, etc.
NOTE: A great way to do this is to get a TON of ess and cash, black robes, then go to world 16. Go into the air alter, and scream "[name] Open, cash!". People will trade you 28 essense unnoted for 28 noted ess and 2k. Seems like a bad way of money making, and is until a higher level. When you hit x5 (lv 44) you break even making airs. At x6 you start making 28 air profit every time (if selling airs at 20 each). As you get higher, you'll get more and more extra air runes. I've seen people make millions off of this way, it works very good when you get to the high levels.

1. Unids
Recommended: High enough combat to beat a level 21 monster.
This method is pretty easy, although it can take a while. Having a ring of wealth is recommended if you have access to one. This is where you kill monsters, skeletons, guards, anything that drops herbs (Chaos Druids are recommended, in edgeville dungeon). Do NOT identify the herbs! Bank them until you have 100 unidentified herbs, or 100 ‘Unids’. These sell for 1k each usually, lately it’s been getting harder to sell unids though, not too sure why. After getting a good amount of money you could make an attempt at merchanting them. Buying em for 50-100 each, then selling for 1k. Not many people who collect unids are that stupid though, and will only sell for around 1k.
~|~|(123J~I~N~D~R~A~K321)|~|~
2. Arrow Shafts
Required: Woodcutting Axe, Knife.
For low level fletching people, I STRONGLY recommend using this for a while. This is where you cut or buy normal logs and fletch them all into arrow shafts. Since arrow shafts are stackable, you can stay out there and just continue cutting and fletching until you have a large amount of arrow shafts. I recommend Southern Seers for a place to fletch these. There is a rather large forest of normal trees west of the flax picking field. You get 15 per log, so it can go rather fast, get 5k shafts. Then sell for 10-15 each (Hit the forums). You got a good amount of money there and possibly a decent fletching level. You can merchant these, but it isn’t really recommended. Buy for 5 each, sell for 10. If you can find some hard-working people who will get you many shafts for that price, you’re in business. It’s a pretty good way to merchant, but the amount of people buying and selling arrow shafts seems to have diminished a little bit.
3. Runecrafting/Rune Running
Runecrafting can be a good way of making money when you are a member, but when you are a low level member, it’s just as bad as when you are a non-member. So what you have is ‘Rune Running’. Rune Running is when you take a certain amount of pure ess to someone, usually 27 (With the addition of Tiaras), go to the rune altar, and give it to a crafter who gives you the same amount of whatever rune, Natures, Laws, I’ve even seen a few chaos ones. The most known ‘business’ of runecrafters is the large group of people in World 66. They are a giant group of people who craft law runes. Give them 27 un-noted ess, they give you 27 noted ess and 27 law runes. The law rune altar is on Entrana, an island which you get to by talking to the monks at the docks in Port Sarim. You can’t have any weapons or armor (Robes Aside) though. The way you identify a crafter is that they have full zamorak robes on. This is ONLY IN WORLD 66 if you are looking for them in world 59, you’ll be there a long time. Some ******** go there with zammy robes on just to throw off the runners, attempt to ignore them. After a while you’ll recognize crafters by name, until then look for the red robes. Bank them in falador or draynor, get tons, and you can sell pretty good. If you are able to run natures, these sell for 300 each, laws sell for 300 each. Those are the two main types of runes that you can ‘run’.
Likewise, you can craft the same runes and sell at the same price, whatever, but be sure, at 96 rcing you can make double natures(I think it's 96). Meaning VERY good money making, if you get 96, you will be making millions per every few hours with runners.
Because of Pure Ess, the amount of people hiring runners has gone down, World 66 is still open, but it's crawling along right now. I'd recommend crafting in the abyss wearing dragonhide with your pouches handy, because it's the fastest money.
~|~|(123J~I~N~D~R~A~K321)|~|~
4. Clue Scrolls
Clue scrolls are found when certain monsters drop items called ‘Clue Scrolls’. These can lead to numerous things, trimmed armor, gold armor, god armor (At High level monsters), and god pages. It can also lead to complete [Expletive Deleted] items, I’ve gotten some once, but don’t worry, not too many do. For level one clues, which as a low level are the only ones you’ll get, you should go east of Relleka and hunt rock crabs. They are level 13, but have a nice amount of health (50) so they are also EXCELLENT training. Walk up to a sitting rock, and it will attack you, kill it, and wait until you get a clue scroll. Might take a while, clue scrolls are rare drops. If they stop attacking you, and just remain a rock, walk back into the Relleka forest, walk a ways, maybe 8 trees deep, and go back. This is a random event to stop people from putting their character on top of a rock respawn and going to sleep. RuneHQ.com can help you out if you have trouble with a clue scroll, just look for a Special Report called Treasure Trail Help. If you get something decent, sell it. God Pages (‘Torn Page #, (S,Z,G)’) sell for about 100-200k each. Trimmed armor is going down in prices, but look to sell it on forums and such. The best items are ranger sets (Ranger Boots + Robin Hood Hats) which seem to be climbing in prices, going for 4m+.

|P2PH| Member High Levels |P2PH|
1. Fighting
Now, this can be a tricky part to make money off of, and a high combat level and a ring of wealth is almost mandatory at this point. There are many monsters you can kill for good drops, my favorite of the many are Fire Giants (I recommend completing Waterfall Quest first, because Baxtorian Falls is possibly the best spot for Fire Giants), and Green Dragons (Found in lv 13 wilderness, in the giant crater north of falador, in lv 26 wildy north of edgeville, and level 23 wildy north of varrock (NE of hill giants). To kill Fire Giants, I recommend being a mage or ranger, although a high level fighter will be okay, but you have to bring food. Note: An exception to this is if you have a halberd, when you can reach across the tables in baxtorian falls and just smack the fire giant long range. Fire giants drop rune items, like the scimitar which sell for 25k each, they also have rarer, incredibly awesome drops, such as the Dragon Medium Helmet (900k Mil I believe) and the Dragon Half shield (Like 3.something mil). They also drop dragon spears, but Id suggest poisoning these before selling. Dragons are a different story. These you don’t really need a ring of wealth to kill, because their 100% drop is the real key to making money. After you kill a dragon, (Author’s Note: FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GET A D-FIRE SHIELD) the easiest ones are green dragon’s mentioned above, which are lv. 79, they drop Dragon Bones and Dragon Hides. Collect these. If they drop a shield half, clue scroll, or rune large, collect those too (Duh). Dragon Bones sell for 2k-2500 gp each, and hides (green) sell for about 1-1.5k each. So if you have a lot of food and a good combat level this is a good way to make money. Keep in mind, green dragons are found in the wilderness, so bring teleport runes and good food, Lobbies +. BUT, beware pkers are about in the wilderness, and don't think if you go to the lv20+ you can ust run and teleport, beware of those of us who wear the ghostly robes ;-)
2. Thieving
Minimum Level: 28
Suggested Level: 70+
At level 28, go to Ardounge, east of the marketplace, go into the building right on that road, off to the south. Up the stairs, near the chests. Search for traps, you'll get nature runes + cash. When they respawn, do it again. Simple, repetitive, pretty slow. Not recommended, but you easily could do it. Sell natures for 300-350 each. (Note, it's good to high alch here, alch 3 times, steal a nat, alch 3 times, steal a nat, etc)
At level 59, you can steal from the Chaos Druid Tower in Ardounge. Use a lockpick to get in, go down the ladder and through the tunnel into a room of Ogres (lv 53s). Steal from the chest, you'll get 500 coins and 2 blood runes (approx 1500 gp). You'll be warped outside. Repeat it. Simple, repetitive, kinda slow, not that bad.
Lv 70+, time to pick some pockets! Thieve from the best thing you can, Paladins give 2 Chaos Runes (140 gp ea) + 80 coins, Gnomes give money + items, as do heros and elves. www.runehq.com has a good thieving guide, under skills. :)
~|~|(123J~I~N~D~R~A~K321)|~|~
3. Nature Crafting
Needed Level: 44
Best Level: 91
Rule number one of nature crafting, do the Zamorak Mage's Abyss Mini Quest, once again, www.runehq.com has a guide under 'Mini Quests' for it. At 1 runecrafting, you can only use the small pouch (3 Ess), at 25, you can use the medium (six), at 50 you can use the large (nine), at 75 you can use the huge (12) pouches. When you get the required level, go into the abyss and fight the abyss monsters. Leeches hit the fastest, but have the lowest health so they are your best bet. Once you have your required level, pouches, and pure ess, I can tell you exactly what to do.
First, Get your type of armor with the maximum magic defense, this is usually full dragonhide, mystic items, god cape, ele shield/prayer book. Now, grab either a pick axe, hatchet, or tinderbox. Also, have charged glory amulets (attach one). Wear your hide and such, fill your pouches and the rest of your inventory. Now, go to the north east corner of edgeville, walk into a skeleton, hit it if you need to to get it to attack you. When it attacks you, walk north, getting it to follow and continue hitting you. When it stops following, run. Run run as fast as you can. Get into the Zamorak Mage's Abyss Tele as fast as you can because there are PKers who want your glory amulet. a TB will not stop you from teleing, so dont even be phased if they tb first. But, if you see a ice or a green vine around your legs, try as hard as you can to either tele away (carrying Ectophial, Tele Tabs, or using your glory), or prepare to lose your hard earned pouches and ess. A good rule of thumb is to carry an ectophial. It may take away 1 extra nature rune, but it saves you hours of work in getting your pouches. Once you get into the port, find a way into the center (chop vines, mine rocks, crawl in agility shortcut), then into the Nature Rift. Craft your runes, empty your pouches, craft those, Glory Tele back to Edgeville and restart. Do this into the thousands of runes, sell for 300-350 each.
At 91 Runecrafting, you get one hell of a luxury. Crafting double nature runes. You can continue the abyss if you want, or you can hire runners. If you're 91 runecrafting, you either know what runners are or you bought your account off of Ebay (if so, ..!.,). Hire runners at 8-12k a run (plus ess), and you get 50+ nature runes (15k+). Voila, you're making thousands of GP every 30 seconds if you have a good chain up.

|STK| Staking |STK|
Staking is possibly the fastest way in Runescape to make money, but it also is easily the fastest way to lose money. Anyone who plays real poker could easily say that gambling in the duel arena is close to the same as poker, except obviously you aren’t using real money in the duel arena. I’d say that the dueling arena is about 25% Luck and 75% skill. This section of the guide will explain how to create a staker, and then how to make money with him\her.
|RNGR| Archer |RNGR|
This is my favorite kind of staker. Essentially because it’s the one I used. I used to have a range staker with 86 range and 74 combat. I’d estimate I made around 400k in 30 minutes with him. Making a range staker is as simple as this: High Range Level + High Defence Level = pwnage. Having a low combat level isn’t necessarily a must here, because as most people know, if you are staking with a level 50 who is putting up 200k, he is a staker such as yourself, these are not those you wish to pick fights with. You need to try and find those people who are only staking 10-100k each time. Before you begin staking, I suggest that you have at least:
Range Level: 70
Defence Level: 70
Prayer Level 43 [Optional]
Full Torags (No hammers), Black hide vambraces (or RFD Gloves), Full red dragonhide, ranger boots, glory/fury ammy, Magic Shortbow (or Karils Xbow), at least 200 rune arrows (or many bolt racks), 2 range potions, 2 anti potions, 2 super defence potions.
~|~|(123J~I~N~D~R~A~K321)|~|~
Now, the reason for red d hide, is to confuse your opponents. Say you are level 70, in full red dragonhide, this is very believable for gamblers, that you only have 60-69 range. Stake someone within 10 levels of you to a fight, use money amounts based on your level, when people see a low level staking 500k, they know to avoid them. Stake around 10-100k (more if using bolt racks because you cannot pick them up), while wearing full red dragonhide. If they accept, and this is the MOST IMPORTANT PART! Make sure that “No range” is not checked, that your arrow slot and shield slot is turned on, because without arrows, you cannot range, and without a shield slot, you cannot use your bow (unless you have a crossbow, which, if you do, come here so I can slap you.). The options that are on and off should be:
Off:
Food
Forfeit
Drinks/Potions (If you don’t have any, many people will turn this off themselves, let them, it means they won’t duel unless it’s off.)
Prayer (This is important when dueling a meleer, if you see they have a dragon scimitar which disables your protection prayers, turn this off. Sometimes they will turn it off too, doesn’t matter, if you made a correct staker, you should pwn them anyways.)
On:
Range
Weapon and Shield Slot
Arrows
Movement (Need time to change into your good gear, and get the first, second, and sometimes third hits.)
If facing another ranger, turn obstacles on, it’s just more fun. :P
As soon as the duel starts, switch immediatley into your best gear, then make sure rapid is on, and use special attack, also turn on any prayer you have against them and pot up (UNLESS IT’S A LOW STAKE, do not waste potions on these.) if you can, then start ranging them to hell. The best I had was hitting five shots before someone got close to me, having them down to about 2 HP, it was over by then. If you win, great, good job, you just made your first easy money. The second you win enough to double your initial money, I recommend banking it, so you don’t lose it. Once you make enough so that it is impossible for you to lose cash, (However much you started with is doubled) bank enough so you have what you started with, and play loose with it. This can make payoffs larger, but it does the same to losses.

The main part with rangers isn’t necessarily how hard you hit, but how fast and often you hit. Because of my ranger’s consistency, I have taken down a level 97 in Full Dharok. He had two hits on me, 1 for 37, and one for 45, but I still beat him, because I hit 10,15,13,17,19,9,7 (Somethine like that). You can make massive amounts staking, I see people staking 1-5 million in a shot! Always keep in mind though, and this goes with any stakers, “You can’t lose what you don’t bet, but you can’t win much either.” ~ Matt Damon in “Rounders”.
|MGI| Mages |MGI|
Ah the flashy and EXPENSIVE breed of staker. Although there is the cost downside, there is a tremendous advantage to Mage Staking. That would be the use of Ancient Magix. You must do the “Desert Treasure”, which is a tough little quest there, so you won’t be able to make the best staker within a few days, it’ll take a while. Since it is hard to get ancient magic, you will need to get up to God Spells. Put simply, you must train A LOT before you can even START staking. A great way to train is to do this:
Mine or buy 27 Rune Essence.
Take off all weapons and armor, withdraw all ess unnoted, then switch to world 66.
Go down to Port Sarim, and talk to the Entrana Monks, hitch a ride to Entrana.
You can pretty much follow the loads of people to the law altar. Here you will see people in full zamorak robes, trade with them, it’ll take a while, but when one accepts, put up your 27 essence, they will give you 27 law runes and 27 NOTED ESS! It’s free law runes!
Bank, repeat.
Get TONS. Then start power-maging (Using teleport over and over again until you gain magic levels. I recommend getting a mouse with a button to click when you hold it, then tape it down, putting it over the spell, and letting it go, while watching for random events.)
I suggest training until level 80 (hard but worth it) magic. It will take a lot of law running and tellying, but when you get there, you will have to train defense. You can do it whatever way you please, using focus magic, or sitting there bashing chickens until your hands go numb. You can also get 43 prayer, if making a mage staker, it is guessed that you have a main account, so buy tons and tons of bones and give them to your staker, get it 43 prayer, or you can kill [Expletive Deleted] and bury there bones but I like my way better. Either way, get 70 defense (use the defensive button on magic while fire striking or something). Once you have these (80 Magic, 70 Defense, 43 Prayer (maybe).) Do the “Mage Arena” quest. Runehq.com has a good guide on it, read there to do it.
~|~|(123J~I~N~D~R~A~K321)|~|~
After doing Mage Arena, get the Saradomin Staff. It hits faster, and Speed is important. Charge your staff via using it in the Mage Arena. Now you can actually get to Staking. Yea, that was harder than ranging, but probably worth it.
Now, when you are staking, get these items:
Full Ahrims
Wizard Boots
Amulet of Glory
God Cape
God Staff (Or Ancients if you were able to do DT)
Zamorak Book or DragonFire Shield (Prayer book requires horror from the deep and a lot of cash.)
That is what you will actually be wearing when in a fight. But until you get into the fight, wear regular wizard robes, or combos of robes to make you look more noobish. Also, do not have your good stuff on, it will scare people away. Now just stake people decent amounts, 100k+ each time, and keep doing it (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH RUNES.) and don’t fall for any tricks, keep magic on, remember this (keep weapon on if using god spells). Try to pick on meleers as your magic has more effect on them. STAY AWAY FROM RANGER STAKERS. I cannot stress this enough. If you catch a ranger with the same range and defense as your magic and defense, you will most likely lose (unless they are dumb enough to keep torags on). I’ve met many mages in the wilderness and duel arena who can contest to this. Always keep movement on, this will give you time to change outfits, and if lucky, bind/snare/entangle/freeze them before they get to you, giving you a great advantage. Make sure you set your spells correctly, you don’t want to be caught off guard.
Something very important. Regarding Ancients. If your opponent gets within hitting range and is a ranger, ABANDON FREEZING SPELLS! Do Blood spells, These will DRAIN your oppoenents HP, healing YOU DURING battle. It's a good thing if you can stake without armor, as it will reduce the chance the meleer you're facing throws on hide/karils. Also, you CANNOT ICE WITH MOVEMENT OFF! So don't try.

Closing Comments on Mage Staking
Since staves aren’t two handed (Ahrims is obviously the exception), there are less chances of getting scammed because they set a rule you didn’t see, so just keep your eye on the “No Magic” check. Never take a duel with too low of a stake. I’d say always keep them over 50k, cause you don’t want to use more cash in runes than you make. It is very expensive to make Mage Stakers, so watch your cash flow. This guide is mainly for advanced mage staking, not picking out newbies, don’t use this guide unless you plan on doing some hardcore staking.
|MLE| Melee Staking |MLE|
This is one of the most popular ways of staking at the moment, and will include many sub-sections.
Barrows:
A melee staker’s best friend. This armor is very expensive, but is very good. You will need 70 atk, low strength, 70 def for full barrows (Since this is not including mage or range, Karil’s and Ahrim’s are excluded). I recommend doing the basic training, chickens, rats, cows, etc. until you are level 30. Now you can get to real training. Get to seers, then go north, follow the road then take a left at the fork in the road, continue up to the barbarian city “Relleka”, follow the outside of the barricades of the city east, then go north when they stop, unless somoene else is training, all you’ll see is a field of rocks. Walk near one of them, and they will pop up and attack you. Surpsising ain’t it? That’s not half of it though, these monsters are “Rock Crabs” and are level 13, so very easy to kill, but the trick is they have 51 health! This making them VERY VERY good training. You can train here until you are level 70s in your attack and defense stats and 50 strength (keeping combat low, you wont need str)! (Although it’s expected you’ll eventually go somewhere else.) Now, everything in barrows is expensive, so you’ll need some cash once you get the required skills. Here’s a list of the recommended barrows sets for stakers:
~|~|(123J~I~N~D~R~A~K321)|~|~
Veracs:
This is a useful thing for staking, it negates all of your opponents armor. Making you hit very hard, very easily. It's probably the most often used in staking. With this, train to keep BOTH your DEFENSE and ATTACK at least 20 levels above strength. At least. Ive seen 70/30/70 stakers make millions, so go with what you wish.
Dharok:
Dharok is an interesting little thing, and can be very powerful and very good if you're lucky enough. If using dharok your luck v skill percentage is 50 50, because dharok's special is that when your HP is below 10%, it doubles your max hit. Making it possible to hit up to 90 (Max ever I believe), but also very easily hit 40s-50s. This requires a good strength level, and isn't really recommended.
So get either Verac or Dharok, then also get full rune, kite, and dragon mace (complete heros, shouldn’t be too hard.) when people see dragon mace, it usually implies “easy kill” cause, we’ll, let’s face it, the mace blows for dueling because it's so slow, and doesn't hit often on armor. Challenge people while wearing the rune, switch to barrows at start of duel. I recommend having a super set also, incase someone stakes a lot of money and wants potions on. Beware of mages, always put no movement on, otherwise you could get *****ed by snares, entangles, and ice spells. With these, stake something like 50k+ each time, because you will have to repair it eventually. I’ve seen people around level 70 in full verac, so if you can be one of these people, you will flat out own in the duel arena.
Whips
Ah, abyssal whips. Pretty much the fastest weapon in runescape. Abby whips require 70 attack to weild, and are extremely fast and accurate. So pretty much, train until 70 attack, a good amount of defense (if you can get to 70 def, get torags, while it’s effect for full I don’t really like, it has great defensive stats.), also get an obsidian shield/rune defender, obby cape, strength amulet/Fury, and climbing boots (death plateu quest), get as much strength as possible. To be a great whip staker, do the following:
Complete Heros, get the D B axe.
Get full rune, rune boots, beserker helm (Complete frem trials), strength amulet, Super sets, Dragon mace.
Before the duel, be in all the normal armor and such, but have the dragon mace equipped and not the axe or whip. Like I said before, mace implies easy win. Keep armor on if whip staking, especially if you have barrows. Turn the stuff you want off, as a whip staker as long as melee is on and food is off it really doesn’t matter. Stake 25-50k at a time, and KEEP MOVEMENT OFF. You dont need any ancients messin a up. As the duel starts, pray that you don’t lag, and do the following:
~|~|(123J~I~N~D~R~A~K321)|~|~
Equip D B axe, and use special (unless using DD). This Boosts your strength uber-good.
Use an attack/defense pot if possible. Equip your abby whip.
If prayer is on, turn on protect from whatever they are using, then turn on all of the 15% bonus prayers.
DD Spec if you didnt use D B Axe, then whip them to hell and get your money. I’ve seen a level 79 hit a 30 with whips, you can really own if you do it right.
Daggas
NOTE: You can combine this section with whip staking, open up the duel with dagger specs and not the d b axe spec, then siwtch to whip.
As a ranger, these are my best friends, but also one of the best, cheapest stakers. Get your attack to 60, strength to about 70. Do lost city and get a dragon dagger. Buy a weapon poison, regular or super, whichever you can afford. Poison it, equip it, head to the duel arena. Get a glory amulet/Fury. Stake people 50k at a time. No armor (There used to be a button for no armor, man I miss that. Now you have to check individual slots, keep the glory and weapon slot on only.), range off if you want to win, no prayer, no food, potions are optional, as Super Sets can help, but can hurt if the other person has one as well. This is pretty simple, as the dragon dagger special allows you to hit twice, and you can use it 4 times in the start of a duel, you can finish a person in the opening seconds. Hit 15 with all the specs and you win. It’s a great way, but I’ve pwnt many dagger stakers in my career. MAKE SURE RANGE IS OFF. Just because the shield slot is off, doesn’t mean they can’t range. I’ve lured many dagger stakers into a false sense of security cause they turned arrows and shield off, but kept “Range On”. I had rune knives so it didn’t matter. PWNT! Dagger stakers are really popular right now, so you will most likely wind up facing one eventually, and this is where you can find out how good you are.
Closing comments on meleers.
Melee stakers have one major thing over range and mage stakers. That is, with the exception of deterioration of barrows, their armor and weapons don’t cost anything past the initial purchase, so you could stake 1k at a time and still come out ahead. Still only recommended to stake 50k+ at a time, otherwise I don’t see it worth your time.

Closing staking section:
To be honest, this guide didn’t turn out as good as I hoped. It’s only 5 pages long, and I was hoping for around 7, but it’s still pretty detailed. Like I said, Rock crabs are pretty much the best training you can get for stakers. So use them a lot. The basic means for stakers weaponry and armor are this:
(Fremmy helms can be used in all sets, and are about 60k each street price)
Mages
Full Blue Mystic- 200k
Blood Runes- 600 gp each, can get 500 if in well populated worlds
Mage arena staves- 80k a piece past the first one. Make sure you charge them before using.
Ancient Staff: 80-100k
Rangers
Full Black Dragonhide- 40k
Magic Shortbow- 5k
Rune arrows- 300-400 gp each
Ranger Boots- ???
Melee
Full Dharok - ???
Full Verac - ??? (Im not a meleer, help me out here)
Full Torag (No hamms)- ???
Full Rune- 200k
Dragon Dagger- 30k (40k for (p), 50k for (S))
Abby Whip- 2.?
D B Axe- 150-200k
D Mace- 30-50k
Rune Boots- 200k
Well, I think I’m going to put an end to this staking guide. I hope everyone liked it. More will most likely be added, as this guide will ALWAYS be under construction. Because new ways of making money and staking will come out eventually.

5. More to come
(Still under construction)
|P2PL| Member Low Levels |P2PL|

5. More to come

~|~|(123J~I~N~D~R~A~K321)|~|~
Closing Comments on Range Staking
