Why We Shouldn't Hate Emos.

Okay, before I start this, I just wanna let you know that this is not intended to start an argument, this is just my opinion on why we shouldn't hate Emos. And this isn't favouritsm (sp?), it was something I was thinking about earlier.

Well, people shouldn't hate Emos or what I consider 'The Dark Side' because they're just like everybody else.

Really, everybody is the same - we just dress and act differently. But because this thread is about Emos, I'll discuss what makes them slightly different.

Firstly, the way they dress. So we dress in black and dark colours? Whoopdey doodah! Chavs dress in stuff such as a Lonsdale and wear those hats, so why can't we? Seriously, just because we like black, doesn't mean people have to bug us about it. :rolleyes:

My point is the way we act. We're quiet, and sometimes prefer to be individual - why can't you understand this? Perhaps we want some time alone to think about stuff, or just want some time away from our friends, would it hurt to let us do this?

And all this fussing about Emos slitting there wrists and stuff. We don't. I know lots of my friends who aren't Emos, who cut themselves on purpose, mayybe not there wrists, but other parts of there body.
Anyway, if Emos cut themselves, it's because they're most likely annoyed with something/someone. People shouldn't be giving them unwanted attention because they do this, just let them get on with it.

That basically concludes what I've written, but I hope this proves that Emos are like Chavs in a BIG way - they both are different in the way the way they act ect, but are people, so shouldn't be judged because of there personalities.

The thing about everyone is the same, i can agree on. But its the way that alot of "emos" are just wannabe's and dont have the lifestyle to go with it. + I just dont understand the way they dress, alot of people dont suit black, it drains your colour, so why would anyone want to make themself look unpresentable? In my head, its asthough people want to gain attention to themselfs because of what there appearance looks like. Whats the point? Emos are known to wear bright colours and different clothing. Well at my school anyway.

Who cares anyway on what people wear. I wore a strippy hoody, normal jeans and converses and i was walking with my friend and this fat chav girl calls me an emo. So i say no im not you fat ugly chav, go brap your mums house and other stuff. :)

Well you should be judged because you often choose clothes to fit in with a particular style. I personally have the style of townie/'punk' and if I'm called either it doesn't bother me cos to be honest I choose the clothes so it's no-ones fault but mine, and seeing as I like the styles it is no problem atall:) And alot of "emos" are portrayed to slit their wrists, like chavs are portrayed to wear burberry caps high up, wether you like it or not stereotyping is always going to happen. I feel mighty comfortable wearing what I wear and even some of my friends call me this funny name because of the two styles I wear and I call them goth/chav back as a joke, it is fine and who cares what other people say, it's the style you want to wear so wear it and don't care if anyone calls you a name for it.
On the topic of music however I listen to all types of music - literally. So not always judged by what you wear on music you like.

90% of my friends are Emos/Punks, so yeah, you could say I copied them. But I hang around with them all far too much to not get drawn into there styles.

Erm, anyway... Most of the Emos i know are about 16/17 then goths are about 18/19 then metal heads are from like 12 to 19

so theres quite a wide range - i know a few emo/scene kids that are 18 aswell infact -thinks- i only know about 30 emo kids under 16? =\ mostly Metalheads/Skaters are the younger ones.

Right... You have some severe problem. How can cutting yourself relieve stress? The only thing it does do is lower your blood levels and make you look like you enjoy pain... What actually makes you stressed? It confuses me, I fail to see why you would put you, yourself at risk by cutting yourself and if you cut yourself wrongly, imagine what your family would think or do when they wake up and see you in a puddle of blood, dead.

One teenage way to release stress is and I do not wish to write a huge lecture on it, is to "jerk the gherkin" so to speak. You may think it is rather discusting, but one major form of stress is sexual stress. I do not really want to hear about your bedroom tales, but that is one way to release stress.

Another is talking it over with friends. Although, judging by your friends "stereotypical type," they probably would tell you to cut deeper. Family members maybe? They'll help you out hopefully, unless your parents are terrible. Why are you affraid to tell them? You do not need to tell them you cut yourself, just say you are upset or stressed out.

Maybe get some sleep? Sleep is good and relaxing, maybe a nice warm bath. Please don't give me a lecture on baths being a filthy way to clean, you are allowed to have a shower afterwards. I do at least when I have a bath.
