Do chat-up lines ever work? I've never tried them, because most just sound cheesy, especially the second one you posted. The first was sort of funny, the type you laugh at politely so your mate doesn't feel like a ***.

ive never used a chatup line. however i do like the sounds of:
"heres 20p, call your mum and tell her your not coming home tonight"
but its a bit outdated so we got a new one:
"here is my phone, call your mum and tell her your not coming home tonight"

sorted out that problem and also shows that whoever uses that will get some.
