Unfortunatley this weeks Poet corner has Lied to habbo UK , But Habbo has done nothing because they do not know.
The winner HereComeSte had done nothing but copyed and pasted from the BCC Website.
Here is the link to the poem
http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/remembrance/poetry/crawford.shtml

Do you think Habbo should cancel his prize , or let him have it.
Well i vote , CANCEL HIS PRIZE.

My God... You'd think they'd check such things. Plagiarism, along with being a very hard word to spell, is one of the major downsides of the Internet... And this is a prime example...

Good find, +Rep.

EDIT: Google (http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=Why+wear+a+poppy&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8) rofl 5th link...

Tea, It's unfair though. People could of really worked hard on it , and it's all been thrown away by a cheating user , it shouldn't happen.

Jesus, let him win.. If it doesn't affect you.. dont bother.

It affects Mr. Don Crawford, original writer of the poem. Going off slightly, Saddam didn't affect me - I still want to see him tried and punished :) If you let people get away with stuff they'll continue to do it...

And no problem :)

Tea it does'nt matter if it affects anyone. Its blatant plagiarism and he should be disqualified and ashamed.

I vote no prize for him and one of the other hard working Habbos should get it.

Thats sickening , Thousands of habbo's spend 1-2 hours on their poems while this guy C&P's from BBC. If BBC Finds this out The writer can Sue.

That's exactly what I thought. I mean, the HHT isn't much use on legal matters - I'm pretty sure either Chris or Emma will read my email, I did put:

"Poet's Corner Plagiarism"

as the title, and as everyone knows, alliteration always allows added attention :)

Jeez, why you getting yourselves so wound up over it?

And I doubt the writer of the poem will sue a kid for using his poem to win a pixelated piece of furni

But the fact is he could. Imagine writing a huge 10 page essay for your English coursework, then finding that someone else has stolen it, got the credit for it, and the A*. Not that nice, is it?

Very true, they should check all of this stuff before they put it on their site. It's not exactly hard to put the first line through Google, is it?

I KNEW THAT WAS RIPPED! :o

There are a couple of words in it I have never heard of and it just didn't sound like some kid wrote it.

To be honest, the Habbo staff who judged it are stupid. :eusa_wall

You need to get over it. Just because you didn't think of such a fantastic plan. I am pleased for them that they succeeded in fooling habbo into thinking it was their own work. why didn't I think of that?

I think Habbo should delete his entry, I'm not sure how they would tkae his prize back, but that should be done aswell.
Why should he win if he has cheated?
What about other Habbos that spent at least and hour, on their own original poem?
