Should our DJ Panel be free?

I mean we are putting alot of time effort and money in to it?

Should GiantPanel really be open source?

I don't want it to be.. I want HC sofas!! :D

Even though Im on the team, it shouldnt be free. There should be a free one, but come on, we are putting our guts (well kevin is donating his kidney LOL) into this.

but the premium version... if you donate you get the whole cms, template system, mod system, job application system ;)

Have the standard edition which is very basic. (FREE)
and then the pro edition which has loads of features. (MOT FREE)

and also, are they going to be encrypted

Have a licence system then encrypt the bit that includes the licence files.

There should be 2 versions

A basic free one with VERY basic stuff and not great securaty (canrt spell)

And a pro version what would have to be paid for, only people who put work into the panel would get this one free

Ye. I think some should be zended, like the top part or summit, then when you delete it your buggered, and in the top should be the license check.

Domain and Hosting for the site for people to download it off, they are also putting time and effort in to it what could be spent on other things

Premium get access to our support portal. We will have customer ID's just like vbulletin

Unless we encode it all, then we have what like vB have where you can edit all the skin, colors ect via admincp.

I don't think it should be paid at all! Everyone is having this free and professional version idea and it's silly. I'd go for donations.

Zend is hard for some people to use, take for example me - I don't have Zend on my server and the server's administrator won't ever set it up. I could never use your radio panel.

If you release a free, non-encoded version which is stable, updated regularly and offers support you will get hundreds of downloaders and users, with that - having a donation box in each of the radio panels AND on your site, you'll be making big bucks. Oh... and a donation room on Habbo if you desperately want sofas :P

I'm not sure. I don't really like to make a profit, unless I need to because I am offering services which I pay money for.

You guys are out to make a profit, correct? If I were you I'd do everything different because I find nothing more satisfying then helping those that can't pay for services. Good luck anyway.
