Forum Contradictions

The new forum, Gadgets & Technology contradicts many forums:

Computer Talk
Computer Problems
Console Games
Computer Games
Media

Although I think we should have a technology category and slop all the games forums/computer forums etc in there.

Like I said in the other thread, a lot of threads etc/ actually come under more than one category and section.

Thats why we made the rules a bit more flexible, as often the case is users topics could be classed under a number of seperate categories, and not everyone looks through every category first.

Stuff like mobile phones didn't really have an appropiate place to be posted about, and we feel the gadgets forum is adequate for that sort of thing etc. although there may be other categories suitable elsewhere.

Users can choose where to post such things as long as they make sense to be posted in that forum.

The choices given are wider now depending on what kind of audience you want to ask or discuss something with (usually the case).

Moderators will only move a thread if it makes no sense having the thread there. I.e.: Talking about habbo in the outside habbo section.

So Microsoft Office and Windows Vista is appropriate for a Digital Applications and Mobile Phone forum. I think not hence the contradiction..

It isn't restricted to posting about mobile phones and 'digital applications'. People can post about PDA's etc. which are classed as gadgets/technology and therefore their operating system etc. also comes under it.

We have given users a wider range of forums to post in, like MAD says - so they can choose their own individual audience for them.

You can say the discuss anything habbo forum contradicts every habbo forum? It is just a forum that is aimed at that in general as the other habbo ones are aimed at more specific things in that topic like how "Computer Talk, Computer Problems, Console Games, Computer Games and Media" all focus on specific things under one topic.

I think in all honesty this is correct.

Why not just make a "Gadgets / Technology" catagory, and have a "Computers" forum within that, with all the forums there already within that?
Then you can make such forums like "Music Appliances", "Camera (Accessories)", not to mention stuff like "Housing Appliances" or "Other Gadgets"

But, if you guys feel it is correct at moment, then that's fine I suppose.

Well when the gadgets forum was discussed with sierk he felt it was a great idea, so to me if he thinks its cool then thats great. If he thinks there needs to be some sort of change or whatever, then by all means I'm happy for one, but like MAD said - it could work under any circumstance.
