I added a few effects and turned out like this i think looks cool but C+C it's for my portfolio / bloggy thing

Ok:
Lets start off with the links, why are there so many? You only need around 4-5 links in a portfolio/blog style template so that needs to be reduced.
The banner text is unappealing to be honest and it doesn't fit in with the colour scheme of the whole template.
I think everything else is ok apart from the text size, and you've put crisp on the text which isn't great for previews.

Adam the links their just as dummy text and you never know you might need more in future ;)

The colour scheme from my perspective is appalling, however the overall theme is to a decent standard.
May I recommend that you step away from such design styles and experiment with other techniques.
I see no inspiration which usually looses the potential of the design.
May I recommend the following website for the latest and most popular colour schemes.
http://www.colourlovers.com/Also another recommendation - as stated previously your design lacks inspiration, therefore I recommend that you visit professional organisation who sell designs as such and gain inspiration from such content.
