Where it syas we have removed all infractions for spamming etc

Does that mean that those infractions have been taken off of your profile?

Cheers

If you got them before the rule change they will stay.

But what does it mean by "removed" Surely they can't mean you can't get an infraction for spamming anymore, or I could post in this forum saying "teapot" and it wouldn't get action taken against it?

You dont get infractions for spamming any more. You are simply reported to an smod and if you continue doing so, you will be caution/temp ban or perm banned instead :).

If say you made 10 spam posts, you would get temp banned (this is only an example) for 10 infractions by an smod.

Now instead of mods giving out infractions for spam posts, the user is report to smod to see if it is actual spam then that user will be banned if he does it often.

Before moderators gave out spam infractions too easily and people got banned too easily because of this and people complained about it. Also lots of the infractions were reversed giving smods work of reversing each infraction and letting the user know etc :).
