How To Make A Host

I bet lots of you are wondering - how do you make a website host.
Well it's pretty hard.. this guide will hopefully
help you...
Before you start make sure you ...



Make sure you're an advanced web designer
If your not, then make sure you hire one
Don't hire just one - also hire others - but have a main one
Have a name, see if it's not taken - BUY IT
Learn how to use Cpanel + Whm ( Web host manager )
Get an effective - PROFESSIONAL layout, get a custom, or download one of a site
Make sure your capable of coding the layout
Now to buy a reseller, here are a few sites i recomend...

Okay - Chosen a reseller? Don't buy it yet...

Now you got to buy a domain...

Okay now, once you've bought all that, you need to get your nameservers sorted out, once you recieve the adress from the host, log into the domain site, and change nameservers, this should take anything between 24-48 hours, some sites to this for you - but most don't.

Okay, now you have to finish the layout (if it wasn't done before hand - which it should), upload it into cpanel, and get all the pages working.

Congratualtions ! - You've just made your first hosting website - Feel proud.

A few tips of maintaining a good site...



Keep it up to date, have a certin time every week/day that you update the content
Keep your staff well treated, award them if they're working for free - maybe free hosting package.
Offer friends free hosting packages in return for him/her to affiliate to you
Get a livehelp services, trouble ticket script. Make it work !
And remember THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT !
Also, have a "MSN" address, for easyer livehelp. This helps alot

Lol, not alot of people would, it takes time, perseverance and alot of extreame hard work, keeping your customers happy, online support, content updating.
But some people obviously do.
It's a good way of making money ;)

befor i made mine, i got everything ready, coded everything, got everythign perfect all i needed to do was buy, change nameservers, then upload.
Took me weeks upon weeks

you used a template also my friends like kendo and rubbles (hobbas) helped your code the little it was all templates! you never had this support, you can barly code html i dont know why your the manager, habbox will need to check staff before hiring.

It is very hard to get people tho.... These days there so many its hard to get people. Unless your host is very cheap the chance of someone choosing you is very slim.

I no longer bother with my host, i just host my sites and a few friends. But it was fun setting it started. :)

I use www.surpasshosting.com and i think they are very good. They own their own datacenter and servers.

and i also use www.directdomainreg.com for my domains.. very cheap :)

Exactly what happened to me, started good, then i just got bored 'cause no oen was buying, so i just hosted friends, my own sites, free hosting, and forums :D

Making a website host is easy. i have my own server, www.vitalhosting.co.uk (http://www.vitalhosting.co.uk) we are currently getting it up.
but the prices are Really really cheep, i think its like 10gb reseller for £40 pounds yearly and all our packages are lower than ax and also better packages, all our packages include unlimited bandwith unlimited mysql unlimited ftp accounts, unlimited e-mail accounts ect..

Hi i've just started to make a web hosting site and I must say this would not help one bit. You are telling them what to do but if they dont know anything they cant really learn from this. They have to install billing scripts, livehelp scripts (I supose a few come with fantasico), and yes we all know this is not hard but they need to find out the best ones and how to use them correctly which some people find difficult. Then they SHOULD make their terms and conditions otherwise anything could happen, they have to learn about cutomers data protection. Yes msn help would be good but also a phone line is popular as they know they are getting better support. Maybe use a old mobile?
Anyways just thought I would say that I dont think this would help me if I followed this.
