Habbo UK is giving all UK residents (not me :@) the chance to visit their offices. They want you guys to design a new website for Rare Communications.

It's modeled after X Factor, where there will be stages, voting and stuff.

Three Habbos will visit the offices and present their designs and then one will win. The two will be sent home and the winner goes out for dinner with Habbo staff and the Rare Communications people.

It's really cool! I'm really jealous of this. I'm good at web designing, yet I can't enter cause I live in Canada.

Cool prize - you get to present your design to Doug Richard from BBC's Dragon's Den as well. I love Dragon's Den. XD

Dinner out isn't so bad either; its not like Lost_Witness and UKChaserAl are two inch Habbo avatars in real life and people are going to start pointing an laughing at you for being with them. To everyone you walk by they'll just be two adults, with a teen.

But... you never know maybe they'll both hold a Habbo sign and wear Habbo t-shirts just to emabarass the winner a little bit. ;)

End of the day, Habbo are getting thousands of pounds worth of website designs from hundreds of habbo's, the prizes they are actually giving out is actually quite small. Especially as the T&C say they can use any design.

Anyway, if you have an hour or so free for Habbo, then go for it.. however the prize seems a bit too naff for me!

Maybe I phrased that a little wrong, but the point is, they'll just be another group of people pedestrians take no notice of and walk by so it's not embarassing at all. A lot of users would like the chance to meet the people behind the site, ask questions, get answers, maybe try swag some goodies. ;)

All I know is, they will not be wearing any Habbo merch. They don't want people who recognize the tee-shirts or whatever coming up to them saying "GIVE ME TONZ UF RAREZ LIKE CALLIE HAD" now would they?

But, this could be kind of cool if you are into web design like me.

@Just-One: I also hear they have no personality, one of the staff told me that. Chris is supposed to be one of the most boring people ever and apparently Alistair is really weird. It's all up to your own interpretation of boring and weird, tho!

Hmm.. i guess he enjoys playing Habbo then, fair enough. He's probably single though so i guess its fair that he can do what he wants with his time. :p

As for this trip to the Habbo offices, i remember ukchaseral saying in the Daily Telegraph article the offices have to be boarded up when students visit.. I can see his enthusiasm to the winner already.

Its 1 bus ride from me anyaway (not personal info- this is london litrally 30 busses go there and there are arround 600 bus routs) Lol infact i was down by there 2 weeks ago

I think this would be quite cool, but im not the best at designing websites so my chances are out. I wonder if those who are entering realise that this is just a cheap and easy way for a big company to have a website made for them. A normal designer would probably charge them alot more than what a dell PC is worth (probably cheapest you can buy) Woo.
