Hello, since I'm bored I thought I would write a guide on an amazing skill, Fletching. I am not someone who is writting this guide and has no idea what to do above level 70 fletching or anything. This guide is 100% written by me, Anti-Flag.

Fletching is a Members Only skill. Fletching can relate to Woodcutting and Range because you can Cut the logs to Fletch the bows/arrows to train Range with. Fletching is a very popular skill over Runescape and can make alot of profit, yes, tons.

I suggest you Woodcut your Logs when you're around 1 - 40 Fletching because Normal logs are quite hard to get ahold of due to not many people woodcutting them for money.

If you're Level 1 fletching then Arrow Shafts are the way to go. You will need to use a Knife on some Normal logs. Here are some good places for cutting Normal Trees -

Just west from Varrok west bank.

East of Draynor Village and West of Lumbridge Castle.

South of Seers Bank.

I reccomend you do Arrow shafts untill you reach level 20 Fletching, then move onto Oak Shortbows. Although some of these items might be hard to sell, you're not spending anything so you cannot loose in any way.

When you hit level 20 Fletching you should now start to move onto Oak Shortbows. Oak Trees are common around Runescape but not as common as Normal Trees. To make an Oak Bow, you use a Knife with an Oak Log then you choose the "Shortbow Option". You now have an Oak Shortbow(u). You need to attach a Bow String to be able to use your Oak Shortbow in Combat.

Too add a String to your Bow you can either buy a Bow string for around 150-200GP or if you have 10 Crafting, pick one bit of Flax and use it on a Spinning Wheel for a Bow string. Then simply use the Bow String with the Oak Bow(u), now you have an Oak Bow ready to be used for Range or selling.

You need to add a Bow String to any Bow(u) for you to be able to use it in Combat. You also get extra Fletching XP for doing this. I suggest you not buying big amounts of Bow Strings for String Bows at this level because you yet won't make any profit.

Here are some locations for Oak Trees -

Just behind the General Store in Lumbridge.
http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/4382/fletching1pu0.png

South East of Seers Village, South of Camelot Castle.
http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/4600/fletching1zu4.png

I suggest doing these until you're 35 Fletching. If you have been Woodcutting all your logs from 1 to 35 Fletching then you should be roughly 30 Woodcutting. Now you can move onto Willow Trees. Some spots for these can be very popular because people tend to Woodcut these for fast Woodcutting XP.

If you find that all your Oak Bows you've fletched are using up Bank Space or getting in the way, simple sell them to a General store for a little more money to maybe buy a new Axe or something.

Willows are also good for Money if you're not as rich as some. They can go for a max of 50go each Log. You can woodcut about 1,000 every hour and a half at level 30 woodcutting, so that's 50k in your pocket, or use them to get higher fletching.

Here are some good spots for Willow Trees -

North of Seers Bank.
http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/7938/fletching1zn1.png
South of Draynor Bank and West of Draynor Bank.
http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/7489/fletching1ix7.png

Now once you're level 40 Fletching you can either carry on with what you are doing now, cutting logs and making bows but if you're one of those richer members I highly reccomend you buying 12-14k Willow logs for about 500,000gp (500k) and Power Fletching. This can become boring and some people around you might not talk so I also reccomend you taking a long trip to Yanille and going to World 132, people will always be Fletching there because they're trying to make that a Fletching guild of their own. People always talk there, they're also very friendly.

Once you have finished fletching those long and boring Logs you will be 70 Fletching! That's an amazing level for money! Sell all your bows to a local General store for money and Merchant or keep on Woodcutting untill you have about another 500,000gp (500k).

If you don't feel like you want to waste 500k on 70 Fletching then once you reach 50/55 Fletching Move to Maple Trees. Maple Trees are also good for money, people buy these for around 100gp each log, so thats another good way of making money. Keep woodcutting and fletching bows untill you can make the next type of Bow. I also strongly reccomend you DON'T Fletch Yew Shortbows, they are a complete waste of time.

Here are some good spots for Maple Trees -

North of Seers, Even more North of Seers and South of Seers.
http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/3329/fletching1sq6.png

Once you hit that great level 70 Fletching and want to start to actually make some serious money then I suggest you read on. You can either carry on Woodcutting your Logs or Buy them VIA other players or the Official Runescape Forums. This is where you will also need to start to buy either Flax, to make Bow Strings or Bow Strings themself. Flax usually costs around 50 - 100gp each or can be picked yourself here -

http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/6861/fletching1fu8.png

Making your own Bow Strings is also a very good way for Crafting XP. You need 10 Crafting to Make your own Bow Strings but 10 Crafting is very easy to get.

If you want to woodcut your own Yew Logs then here are some great places to do so -

South of Edgeville Bank.
http://img483.imageshack.us/img483/6696/fletching1sr1.png

South of Seers and West of Cathurby.
http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/1888/fletching1ou7.png

If you would rather buy the Yew Logs and Strings and Just make bows you can still make some money. Just log onto the Runescape Official forums and head to the Fletching section. Many people Merchant Yew Logs so it's easy to find a seller. Some people sell Bow Strings there so it's best to make your own thread to let people know that you're buying them. Yew Logs go for about 250-300gp each, Bow Strings go for 150-200gp each.

Most people buy Yew Longs in bulks of 1000 each so it's easier for them, they usually buy 1000 Bows for 550k - 600k. That's about 100k you've made there. If you do this from 70 to 99 Fletching you will have well over 100M :). Even though it does get boring, it's a good source of money.

When you get 80 Fletching, no matter what people say, DON'T make Magic Shortbows, they may sell 3k each but if you make too many you will have trouble selling, so just stick to Yew Longs untill you hit 85 Fletching.

At 85 Fletching you can now Fletch everything Possible in the Game. Magic Longs are better XP then Yew logs and you make more Profit from them but are also harder to get ahold of. Some people do sell them but it's hard to get them often, alot of people Woodcut the Logs themselves or just stick with Yew Longs. I stuck with Yew Longs but if you want to Woodcut the Magic Logs, try out some of these places -

South of Seers and even more South of Seers.
http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/6017/fletching1fu2.png

Mage Training Arena, North of Dueling Arena.
http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1263/fletching1xw4.png

Same thing with Yew Longs, people mostly buy Magic Longs in Bulks of 1000+ at around 1.3k each.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my guide, it's taken me ages to write. If you have any problems with Fletching, feel free to PM me and i'll be more than happy to help you. If you feel something is missing from this guide, feel free to PM me :).

Thanks,
Anti-Flag.

Very nice guide, perhaps add other locations where you can pick flax like the elf place if youve done mournings end part 1 and the flax and oaks that are close to the bank in the trees in the gnome stronghold. Also maybe add the different types of arrows you can fletch etc :]

Thanks everyone. This was a Brief guide but I guess when I have some more spare time I could add onto it with Arrows and Crossbows etc.

Thanks for the feedback aswell.

Kinda Hard to say, when I first bought members on 27121990 I got fletching to 20, then I left it a few months then raised it again and so on, so it's hard for me to say.

But when I made my Skiller a while ago, I got from 1 to 40 in one day, then from 40 to 70 for the next 2 days because I bought all my logs and didn't woodcut any.

It's only there to tell them that they need to string a bow to be able to fight with it.
