Okay right, here is my rant.

First of all, micky.blue.eyes does not deserve Super Moderator placement. For the obvious reasons he is a rubbish moderator, and he is barely online. To back myself up with the rubbish moderator statement, well just look through all the infractions he gives out, i'd say over 50% are reversed.. There are PLENTY of people who deserve that place loads more than him, and three to anme are Nixt, Foxmoth & :Jamie. They are actually decent moderators, and this forum lacks decent moderators. You can ask all the forum, and I'm pretty damn sure the majority will agree with me.

Also, with ---MAD--- getting forum manager, well that's utter stupidity. He doesn't deserve smod, let alone administrator. He doesn't do anything, he is just there, and from what I heard he does one hell of a lot of sucking up. Now now now, look who else you have lost. Ostinato. Sorry but he has been one of the best Administrators Habbox has seen. You don't get very many people like him, he's really kind and everything, he's a really nice guy. That will be one of Habbox's biggest losses yet, and yet to come. The only decent SMods & Admins now are, Catzsy, Wayne. & nvrspk4.

Being admin involves much more than posting, most of the work is behind the scenes such as helping out users via pm, helping out mods via pm, making sure everyone is doing their jobs and off course making sure the forum is to top standards from the technical side.

Being an admin does not require you to post at all, I only do it to say hi to the new guys and gals :).

He suggests new ideas, implements ideas from Forum Members and works his butt off to make sure the technical side of this Forum works, as well as ensuring that we have new Forums and moderators.

When choosing a Super Moderator we don't just say "Oh I like his name so lets have him" we go thruogh the moderator logs and see who has had consistently good ones over a period of time. Approval is then given by all of the Forum Management before the person even knows we've discussed them. The whole process takes around 3 days so it isn't as if we just hire anyone.

No one sucks up for their positions on HabboxForum, at least not to myself, sierk or 8Freak8. Admittedly people may be friendly with the names mentioned above but this doesn't mean they get the job anymore than anyone else.

the bit about on msn and gives us free rep.. well wth? you don't see wayne & nvrspk giving me rep, and i still like them. so that's utter crap. and the bit about moderator logs must be crap aswell, because most of micky's infractions get reversed, and you can tell that Nixt & Foxmoth do a hell of a lot of work. &the end bit about no one sucking up, that's also a pile of crap, i've even been told by people they only suck up so they can get high position. i'm glad you quit.

i wasn't moaning about the welcome thing, i was using it as an example. and i know this won't do anything, but it's a hell of a lot better to express our opinions than being kept quiet. but i still feel that ostinato did deserve the promotion a lot more, he had been assistant forum manager before ---MAD---, and tbh i don't even know why ---MAD--- was made assistant forum manager, when ostinato already was, and he was doing a brilliant job from what everyone else could see. and i know it's not up to me, but i'm one to always say how i feel &what i think.

it was nothing personal against anyone, i was just expressing my opinion.

&well ant, anyone can suggest ways to improve the forum. but no one does. there should be a stickied thread/section to post your ideas to improve the forum. not that it'll get noticed..

Habbox needs more decent mods, that could actually then go on to be Super Mod and above, it's ok talking the talk in the application, but whether thats shown in the job is differant.
i think their trial should be looked into in more detail. i also think therre should be people [higher up mods/smods] who actually watch the trialists specially when they are on trial, make sure they don't slip up and to guide them.

Also, as said in one of the other replies, sucking up to 8f8 or sierk will get you nowhere, if anything, it will put them off you, because they are probably seriously sick of suck ups trying to get there foot in the door with the top dogs of the forum.

Also, I think that Mad's posts in the Welcome Forum are just what is needed, to link new members to rules and things if they have not already read them. This encourages them to read the rules, therefore knowing what they should and should not do, and the consequences if the rules are breaking, encouraging them to obey the rules, thus creating a healthier atmosphere on the forum.

With regards to the Moderating/Super Moderating aspect of your 'rant', I have to say I completely agree with you there. I know that now I have said this, Micky and several other people are going to hold a grudge against me, but what you said in your paragraph was true, I honestly do believe that Nixt, Foxmoth or :Jamie should've recieved the job, although it is not really my place to argue with decisions made in an area which I am not involved in, so I will close on that point.

---MAD--- is a great administrator. Just because he doesn't have you all on MSN and give out free reputation doesn't mean he isn't. He suggests new ideas, implements ideas from Forum Members and works his butt off to make sure the technical side of this Forum works, as well as ensuring that we have new Forums and moderators.

When choosing a Super Moderator we don't just say "Oh I like his name so lets have him" we go thruogh the moderator logs and see who has had consistently good ones over a period of time. Approval is then given by all of the Forum Management before the person even knows we've discussed them. The whole process takes around 3 days so it isn't as if we just hire anyone.

No one sucks up for their positions on HabboxForum, at least not to myself, sierk or 8Freak8. Admittedly people may be friendly with the names mentioned above but this doesn't mean they get the job anymore than anyone else.

I know for a fact that MAD is a very brilliant admin and does alot of the technical work. he deserved admin > and now forum manager. Hes a very-active person. he doesn't live in the UK and when most of the people commenting now thinks "he doesn't do anything" - its because you are in school. hes ofton online from 9 i the morning till lunch if not later. Therefore thats why you proberlly don't think he is active.

i didn't say dan didn't deserve the smod job, i never once mentioned him? :s and well i got told that gary hadn't a clue with the admin stuff, and this was by someone high up. they told me he didn't have the foggiest in what he was doing.

and mad does do alot of work, I was in the graphic department once, he's actually very very active in that category, as it runs for the whole forum.. The whole graphic team helped him make the halloween skin, they made the buttons and stuff, and he made the skin.

I think perhaps this is all a bit hasty. They haven't had a chance to prove themselves in their new jobs yet. Surely we cannot assume anything at the moment? Mad is a gr8 innovator who could bring loads of positive things to the forum amd Mickey is an excellent mod who has been missing a bit lately because of holidays and stuff. There are some other great mods who I'm sure would have been in the running such as Nixt, Jamie, Jimi, Foxmoth and Xzuno to name a few and I hope their turn will come :D Dan -legoman- is a great supermod who spends long hours and works tirelessly for the forum.
I am very sad that Ostinato has gone as I hope he might have reconsidered.

I don't see why you are so bothered about him posting in the introductions forum, is he not allowed to do that? He chooses to do that in his spare time, I don't really see why it concerns anyone else.

Don't take this the wrong way, all the admins are pretty nice people. Ostinato did deserve the position as much as MAD, but its really not your choice is it. He is a really nice guy, but its not like the management hire people depending fully on their personalitys.

Yes its true, whoever is made forum manager will definitely receive complaints because of the large audience at habbox forum, its impossible to keep everyone happy however upper management have to make sure they make the right decisions for the long run :).

Yes I agree, I was surprised everyone jumped on micky.blue.eyes so quickly, he was only just announced. Give him a chance, I am sure he will prove himself worthy, if not, it can be changed ;)!

It tends to be my headache, yesterday I was exhausted. I am quite good at choosing managers, I've only ever regretted one manager decision, and I reversed that when I realised I got it wrong. I think I've made the right decision by making MAD Forum Manager. Ostinato also deserved to be Forum Manager, but MAD just cut it more.

As for Super Moderators, I think that will be solved over time.

A lot you do not realise how much work some staff do behind the scenes, you may not of saw MAD hiring the forum moderators and doing all the things you expect from a forum manager but i have known him to be a hard worker and he probably did a lot of behind the scene stuff, plus when i worked here i knew forum staff would have to do one hell of a lot of work to keep this place running, you may not see what they do but they do alot! It use to take hours sometimes doing work each night and that would be a few of us spending hours working on here not just one admin, it would be the whole team and none of you probably even would of noticed, and i am sure that is probably the same with these admins.

Some of you need to give them a lot more repect than you do, as sometimes i think they are to soft on some of you and should ban your butt (nearly forgot i cant swear)!

And it really is not nice when you make posts saying "blah blah shouldn't be admin/super mod"...especially if they were just hired, this simply will wind up the staff, you should just PM 8freak8 or someone with your views in a polite way, if a few of you do it then i am sure it will be noted and something will be done if not straight away then maybe in the future.

threads like this are important for getting our (the members) view of things across. sure things wont always be changed but its good to let the managers know, then if it does go wrong we can feel better seeing it go wrong when we warned them.

i personally felt that Ostinato should have got the promotion rather than MAD, even though he is fantastic at his job it just doesnt seem fair.

i cant comment to much on micky as i havent seen him moderating, but im sure he deserves it.

being a super moderator is a lot of work and forum management have high expectations of you, when i was a super moderator there was a lot to do, you had to be on top form, if they didnt feel you met the bill then you were removed. simple as, lots of super moderators tend to resign over time as they feel its too much. dont really blame them.

i think that nvrspk is also rejected a bit, i know he wants to be forum manager but he just cant seem to get offered it.

but best of luck to them in their new jobs.

And he is also very level-headed, which (i'm not saying anyone else isn't, but since he's the topic, i'm referring to him), is quite essential for this role.

To all the people who say I'm never on line:
I am. I sometimes use the invisible mode but I can't anymore as I'm a super mod now. I haven't been on line much last week because my internet was down for 4 days, if you are judging my activeness on the previous week you obviously don't know what you're talking about. :)
If you judge my activeness on the amount of posts I make then you might think I'm not on line very much, but modding has nothing to do with the amount of posts a moderator makes, I was often busy taking care of things, but I did post a lot in the graphics forums, I've helped a lot of people with their alts, but there are many threads with alts that don't need help or the help is already given by other people, so there is no point in posting the same tips twice.

To all the people who say lots of my infractions get reversed:
Yes, when I first started as a mod I was a little too harsh and quite a lot of infractions got reversed, but for the last 6-7 weeks (no idea how long) almost none (if any at all) got reversed, why? Because I learned to give infractions in a better way. So you can't say most of infraction are reversed because I also check the "report infractions thread" and I don't see many infractions of mine being reported, and if they are they're not reversed.

To all the people who say the infractions I give are rubbish:
Most people who said this are the people who are angry because I gave them an infraction and it didn't get reversed.

Most people don't even know my and the work I do so I don't get why they've posted in this thread.
I work hard and put a lot of effort in moderating, some people might not see this, but that's not my problem, the managers did, hence why they've chosen me to become a super mod.
The runescape section how ever does suport me and they think I'm a great mod, you might think they say that because I play runescape too and they like me, but even the respected people (no offence to the other runescape players :p) think I'm a good mod and they stuck up for me when I got fired the first time I was a mod.

And MAD does deserve to be the manager, you've no idea how much work he does behind the scenes.

Some people complain that some moderators give a lot of infractions that get reversed later. So far we have never registered which infractions get reversed. We are planning to start recording this from now on, so that we can see which moderator's infractions get often reversed, and we can work to improve this.
Yeah, I have put that system in place already and is in trial. See thats something the public didn't know about..infact no-one did..only admins/smods :p.

I got it reversed because he didn't givce me any warnings to remove it myself and he didn't send me a message sayig i got an infraction >>

Yes but to be fair -Lava- that was the old way of doing it and mods were doing them and its only recently that smods have been dealing with them have gone back to warnings and Mickey is new to the section.
Also he realised that then and asked for the infraction to be reversed when

And something I want to add: When we give infraction you normally used to automatically get an pm notifying you got an infraction, it changed and I didn't know that at the time I gave you an infraction (like most mods).

No-one seems to have mentioned this, but surely the best forum managers/admins/smods are the ones that dont get mentioned. The ones that aren't noticed. Thats because the majority of their work is behind closed doors, and to be noticed would mean that they aren't doing it properly. For that reason alone I thought mad was the obvious choice. I also personally thought that Ostinato was a good assistant, however the thread he made when he wasnt given F-M i thought clearly demonstrated why he wasnt given it.
