Setting up A Radio
Please make sure you no how to DJ before you become a radio owner!
To make a radio first you need a site that hosts SHOUTcast.
I recommend ax-Hosting.com or LC-Hosting.com but there are many other sites out
There that hosts SHOUTcast. The cheapest price should be around £1 per 10
Listeners.
Now you have got your radio, now you need to put your radio on your site :)
To do that you need to use this HTML code.
<object id="MediaPlayer" type="application/x-oleobject" height="40" standby="Please wait while we start the radio!" width="180" classid="CLSID:6BF52A52-394A-11D3-B153-00C04F79FAA6">
<param value="http://IP ADDRESS:PORT" name="URL">
<param value="1" name="rate">
<param value="0" name="balance">
<param value="0" name="currentPosition">
<param value="" name="defaultFrame">
<param value="1" name="playCount">
<param value="-1" name="autoStart">
<param value="0" name="currentMarker">
<param value="-1" name="invokeURLs">
<param value="" name="baseURL">
<param value="50" name="volume">
<param value="0" name="mute">
<param value="mini" name="uiMode">
<param value="0" name="stretchToFit">
<param value="0" name="windowlessVideo">
<param value="-1" name="enabled">
<param value="-1" name="enableContextMenu">
<param value="0" name="fullScreen">
<param value="" name="SAMIStyle">
<param value="" name="SAMILang">
<param value="" name="SAMIFilename">
<param value="" name="captioningID">
<param value="0" name="enableErrorDialogs">
<param value="4763" name="_cx">
<param value="1058" name="_cy"></object></p>
There, now just put in your radio servers IP Address (this should be given to you by your host)
Now... Listen with winamp... Ok Link the image/text with this url
http://YOUR-IP:YOUR-Port/listen.pls
Okay, the radio stats!
Check out This tutorial on the stats :) (http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?p=402388#post402388)
Make a new folder on your hosting called “stats” and upload the files config_radio.php & radio_stats.php
Okay! So now you need to link your sites “stats” link to http://www.YOURDOMAIN.com/stats/radio_stats.php
There you go! Your Done!
Hope this helped.

So...
You keep saying on forums "Make your own server" on a other thread you said it was easy to build a server. Just Me Mate It Is NOT easy to build a server.
So dont think you can (as your hosted by 250free.com)so why are you telling other people too make there own servers.
(Sorry Stress Rage :p)
ff_vivi
27-04-2005, 05:46 PM
Yes it is. I use my own computer to serve. It was pretty easy installing it but maybe I found it easy. Anyway I don't dj anymore since I'd rather get my own server. Own server as in MY OWN SERVER in my house.
It's not very hard anyway to download some tihngs and read a manual.
Luckyrare
27-04-2005, 06:06 PM
:o When I said Built a server I dont mean installing a program, I mean building
a server.
Building a server is about 1000x Harder.

27-04-2005, 06:19 PM
Stop trying to contradict me. You know what I mean. If not, I got my own computer, buy one, make one, whatever.
I downloaded Shoutcast and installed it onto that computer. then I turned it on and I started djing.

So basically, you buy a radio from LC-hosting, put that html code onto your site and where it says http://ip:port you replace that with the ip and port you are given by LC-Hosting.. Can you put radios on free hosting sites such as freewebs? Also how will LC-Hosting contact you to give you your ip and port?

Yes, they will reply with your details.
It will take a short while for them to reply with the details. (24 hours tops)
You can use freewebs, but only the HTML version (I think)

lol, my hosting blocks .asx files.
any help on how to get around this issue?
ive spoken to them and they say its blocked because you are not allowed to upload music formats due to copyright claims and they get in trouble.
any issues on how to solve?
