Locker Room and Homophobia [Archive]

Well, I'm making a thread about I suppose a sensitive topic, and I donm't mean to offend anyone.
Do you think schools should make 4 locker rooms, (Male, female, Gay male, Gay female) because as a male, I know some of my mates are nervous that other gay males might be "checking them out", and wondered if anyone else ever thought about this. because it's similar to a girl checking out guys in a guy's locker room, etc.
btw, I don't support this idea, Lol, just thought a post about it ;)

It wouldnt work.. Not many gays at schooling age are openly confessed. I think its a pretty lame idea, hell, y dont u make seperate cubicles for everyone.
What do you mean by "checking out" as long as theres no physical/verbal contact then whats the problem. i fear some of your friends might be homophobes.

It's classing gays as being a different gender. I dont like it at all. Would many people WANT to go in there to get changed? Then people taking the mic out of them (As we know how homophobic people can be). I dont think so.

The actual idea of having sperate cubicals is good because of the fact that people may taunt others for say having acne on their back or being a bit fat, it would stop that. But to single out gay people isn't right and also like the others said not many people do 'come out' until they are older.

i dont agree with 4 seperate rooms!
I know if tht happened in my school, there would be straight people who would wait outside the gay locker room to annoy them and say rude things to them!
So what if they check them out, i know a couple of mates who are bi and gay and we still all change , all they can see is our chest and legs,lol
If there that insecure about changing with gay men/women then they should go change in the toilet or change at diffrent times :S

I'm fine with just getting changed with the lads, who cares if gay or bi people watch you?

seriosly speeking if you worryed about "gay" people checking you out, it just means your uncomfatbel about your own sexuality. Its not exscatly going to kill you if your fancyed by a gay person, weather or not your gay yourslef.

I'm not against gays either, and no, a gay friend of mine pormpted me to do this. I'm glad someone mentioned cubicles, because now I understand the faults of my first post, which was simply an idea, and not exactly somthing I would support anyways.
I'm in no way homphobic, alot of my family is gay. And I'm just as proud of them as my non-gay family.
I hope my idea did in no way offend anyone.

I havent told many people that I am gay right now and I get seriously frustrated when people say "Oh, this game is gay" or "She is so gay" I'm like "Please explain to me how a video game can be homosexual?" Then they go off on one and I just give up. Don't know if I'm overreacting.

The only reson we dont is a cultural thing. if people are broght up in a certain way they will tend to follow it. if they were broght uop difently they would follow teh diffrent one.
