View Full Version : [Suggestion] VIP Referal System

I think it would be a good idea to have a VIP referal system. Each user had a link, and if another user or their friend wants to buy VIP, they can do so by clicking on the link. If the user gets a set number of people (say 10 for instance) they get a free months VIP.

but if everyone has a link, cant people use clones or just click on random people?
& wouldnt it be easier to click on 'buy vip' at the top of the page? because basically when you join, you know about the vip so a friend telling you aswell is pointless

But the person would have to buy VIP. It isnt just clicking on a link 10 times.

Yes. Lol. but then if you because a VIP and you got to use this referal system it would encourage more people to buy VIP as you could get friends etc. to but in and you could ger "free" VIP.

Its a good idea, just I don't know about if we could do it so it would be automated. Also all that would happen is people would always link to someone's when buying VIP. We wouldn't give away a free month's VIP as we'd give loads away, because everyone would refer themselves or someone else etc. However if this was possible we may be able to find another prize or something.

Good suggestion, but that's a bit dingy for making people buy 10 months of VIP don't you think :p

hmm true, 5 points for each person and then 15 points for every 10 or something?

I'm leaning towards 45-50 points for each 10. The main thing is, can we do this with vB :p

Im doubtful one exists for that specific use, but it sounds very simple to code and put together for anyone familur with the software or even just php in genral "/
Although if habboxforum is actualy going to start installing proper mods again, id suggest getting back the Shoutbox that once live on the top of the index, which was by far the most popular feature on the site, and also removed the need for the spam forums or any equivlents "/

I doubt the shoutbox would work on such a forum with 100-300 users online at once. Specially now that the holidays have started, lots of users will be on all day round.

Plus it slows the forum down and uses a lot of resources which is just no good :p.

There isn't a hack for it to my knowledge ;)

Also, the shoutbox was tested for a while and nobody used it so they took it away.

i only said that as a joke. And if there was such a hack then it wouldn't be aloud anyway;)

I recall Jin saying it got took away because there was a lack of moderation in the box, and no swearing filter. Correct me if im wrong, though.
