View Full Version : Favourite BAND/ARTIST ever?

We all have our favourite bands/artists, who is yours?
Although I enjoy alot of artists and bands, there is always one band that will always stick out and be my favourite - Blink 182. The way this band deals with everyday teenage problems I felt I could just relate to their lyrics so well. I listen to them all the time, no matter how many times I've played it in a day their songs never get old. Infact I listen to atleast 1 of their albums a day - probably more infact. They have serious and jokey songs - which is amazing the way they are able to do it and differ their styles. Sure some of their lyrics are a bit random and different, but hell some of the songs have lyrics which are unbelievable. I've liked them since I can remember, since I first heard them. They really made PunkPop my favourite genre and my love of it has grown since hearing Blink. Everything that has Blink 182 wrote on it, I want it - whether it's hoodys, dvds or just t shirts I get it. Ofcourse their 'indefinate hiatus' upset me, my favourite band basically splitting up and a bit of a falling out between the band. However every band has it's time and Blink 182 accomplished alot, who knows in the future they might have a 1 off time together, well we can dream... I hate the stick that they get about "ruining the term punk" or "being for little schoolgirls" cos to be honest I've heard it before and it certainly isn't going to change my views on them, they are phenomenal. They helped bring about alot of bands because they were so inspirational. Infact I've even formed a 3-piece band who do stuff like the Blink sorta stuff. From this grew an obsession with one of the band members - Travis Barker(their drummer, the post-Scott Raynor stuff that is.) I just love everything about him ; his music taste, his clothing style, his clothing range, his drumming which actually got me into drumming and his his amazing hairstyle which I have now got although just needs to get a bit longer;) His drumming is amazing, he uses such complex fills and takes them to the next level. His pace, his ability to write sheet music for virtually any song[He's even appeared on rap albums with his drumming, including Puff Daddy] and his approach to drumming and the way he loves it.
So anyway, who is your favourite band/artist ever?

Anti-FlagThey're my favourite.

Top 5 would be: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Radiohead, Coldplay, Nirvana. No order.
But right now, just as an aside, they are: Built To Spill, ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, Broken Social Scene, and Beck.

You can ask me at different times, and i'll always say a different band, but one of the bands that i never get tired of is Depeche Mode.
I know they are an old band, but that doesn't matter to me, it's kind of that oldness that adds to it imo. I listen to some of their songs and they're just like wow. And, seeing them in concert was amazing as well, mainly because everyone knew the words and was singing along, and they knew how to get the crowd started and everything.
And, i've seen some live dvds, and when he's running around stage and that, it's just awesome as well. So, they're my favourite band.

Not really to be honest... You can have a favourite musician but he doesn't necessarily have to be in your favourite band. Plus you can have a favourite musician and hate the other members of the band. This is just a favourite band thread > so different.

paramore & green day.
paramore; they're such an amazing band, their songs are just amazing. hayley williams is such an inspiration. okay, they've only had one album out, but i can see them going so far in the next few years.
green day; the band which probably got me into rock music. i remember listening to 'international superhits' back when i was 10, when my sister was listening to bands like, blink 182, linkin park & limp biscuit. those bands are all amazing, but i probably listened to green day more. they're a great band, can't wait for their next album.

Yeah they are rather good! I know what you mean, I feel the same way about Travis! Except Hayley Williams is the most beautiful celebrity I've ever seen - and her being a redhead just adds to it:D

Yeah Green Day are bloody awesome, my 2nd favourite band infact. I got into Blink 182 before them so became a bigger fan. Some of the lyrics they write are amazing and Billie Joe[aswell as Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool] are all very talented. Was a bit annoyed at everyone disliking them for 'going mainstream' and although they had a bit of a different sound the quality of music was still there so I am still a big fan! The saints are coming is a rather good song and shows how much talent there is to be able to do a double with U2.
2 excellent bands I must say there Ami, although in my opinion Blink will always be best;) As will Paramore for you I expect!
