I'm sure you're all aware of how appauling the average teenager's English is today, it surprises and disgusts me how some people at the age of 16 and 17 still can not grasp the basics of English. There is a girl in my friends English class who still doesn't know the difference between 'there,' 'their' and 'they're.' I mean, what in the name of Jesus is wrong with her? I learnt that sort of thing in year 5. I'd love to rant about that particularly subject as I haven't really, but I'd rather rant about abbreviations.
Anyway, why do some people incessantly feel the need to change things that don't need changing, especially "abbreviations." For example, "kk," this is an 'abbreviation' of OK (or so I've been told). I'm not sure if you've realised, but it isn't actually. Both words take up 2 letters, an abbreviation is suppose to have less letters in than the original word, thus taking less time to say, type or write it. This is just stupid and contradictory.
Another example is;

Shall I do something that involves you replying to this?

yes=111
no=222

Again, this is an abbreviation, apparently. I think it's the most pointless thing anyone does ever, why not just use yes or no? Someone please tell me the point in substituting the words for 3-digit number sequences. The only reason I can think of is that people are so God damn lazy to outstretch their finger an inch from 1 key to the next to form a word, as oppose to just punching the same one 3 times- if any of you genuinely has this problem, you're an idiot.

I really need to make that list of reasons to kill myself and put this at the top.

I think the reason behind 111 is so that people know that the person is responding to them as opposed to a friend right next to them.

i agree with every single word of that.
i've given up on typing properly on the internet... i still do my punctuation and stuff most of the time, but i could spend for ages knocking everyone in here into shape with grammar, apostrophes, shift key abuse, the spelling of the word "tomorrow", there, their and they're...

111 - u agree wif dis m8.
222 - u dnt!1

Yes, I think it's stupid.
People should type correctly, I edit my posts if I make an error.
It helps your typing if you use the correct punctuation as well.
