It's the persons choice if they want to have it or not. You can't exactly not allow them to have it. :s

Which is one of the main flaws with this thing, but I don't think it's possible to restrict things like that.
If he still thinks the idea should go ahead 8f8 should select about 10 good pixel artists to join the group and then they pick people who should be in the group and give them the option to join. Of course you wouldn't have to be outstandling good at pixel art to be selected, you should just have a general understand of alterations and enough skill to make one that isn't half bad.

But then that wouldn't be a public one and unfair to all the other users who wanted to join.

I love that idea, but I had another one: We make 2 groups
1) Public Pixel Artists-Current one free to join, no skill required
2) Private Pixel Artists- You have to apply and send in some of your alts and someone decides if you get in

That would be a better idea than Ekalbs.

There isn't much point to the group really.
If they want to find out what alts should be moved to elites then they should get someone who had a brain (Like the pixel artist/alteration staff team if it wasn't being removed) to decide wheather its good enough.
And if people want to do community projects they could post them for the public or continue YP2.
Someone doesn't need a usertitle badge to show they are a pixel artist - they need skill and talent in pixel art

The point of the group is that we dont have to control it completely (like staff members). People can join it if they want. I dont really see why anyone would want to join the group JUST for the rank but it doesnt really matter :).

To add to ---MAD---'s post - all the group does is it gives Habbox permission to show your alterations on www.Habbox.com to replace the Pixel Artists. In exchange for this permission, they get the userbar thing - plus special Forums (I think).
If we controlled who went in, or did this:
We make 2 groups
1) Public Pixel Artists-Current one free to join, no skill required
2) Private Pixel Artists- You have to apply and send in some of your alts and someone decides if you get in
That's too much like what we have at the moment, Group Two being staff - the system we're trying to remove.
