Seriously. The forum used to be good. Like a year ago. There wasnt 20000 mods all over the forum, having an org'asm whenever you say "stupid" or tell someone to shut up. You act like we're all 8 year olds. I mean come on! I bet you like 90% of this forum is over 13. You get called stupid when you're like 6? WOW! Its pathetic.
Ever since DJ left these forums, thanks to you, it sucks. It completely blows. Everyone needs to follow stupid little rules. For example, I said that I would rep you back, because I'm trying to be nice. Oh no, that might teach some little 6 year old something stupid, so lets give out an infraction for that. I mean come on? Its a friggin online forum. You don't go out and give infractions to someone for called someone stupid. DJ3000 wasn't that stupid, and he didn't give out pointless infractions, but obviously, your word goes, as shown by DJ. Banned for avoiding the filter? Pssh, Jrh2002 was better than you, and trust me, thats an insult.
ps: Ill bet anyone my habbo account that ill get like -200 rep from all of the stupid sierk lovers and I'll be banned, LOL.

When dj-3000 was around, infractions didnt exist. Instead, we used something called user notes which users never knew they got until they saw the ban screen saying "banned for constant rule breaking".

Pssh, you havent even been here for a year. If you were here ever earlier than the new forum, you'd realise that sierk has sc'rewed up the forum completely since DJ left.
wow over 13? i doubt that anyone could look me in the eye and honestly say that a 13 year old has never called anyone stupid
edit; mad, i know that they didnt give out infractions way back, they just warned us. i was a mod too lol.
I dont think you were here, but before the huge forum update, where all the accounts got deleted, it was fun.

Oh thats why I thought I handn't got an infraction in ages then I got 4 in week.
On topic: the rules don't bother me but what does bother me is that we aren't allowed to name anyone who scams, I think it would be nice if we could **** them up for stealing from us.

You cannot exactly say that HabboxForum aint good as it is the most popular Habbo forum that many of us know of. I do agree that infractions are getting a little bit out of control though.
The reason it's happening is coz it's so easy to become a smod now, all mods r trying to get mod logs etc.

I completely agree with this thread:
- Rules and infractions are just a competition between mods.
- All the rules are stupid now, why should saying you will rep back against the rules? Because alot of people used to say it so mods can give out more infractions and get their logs up.
- Yes this forum used to be good before all the mods and managers and staff and god knows what else. This is my third account here because of bans and stuff.

The main reason in my opion that they are unfair is because they are all competing for Moderator Logs because if you don't get a certain anmount you are fired so maybe there should be no Moderator Reports just a check every 2 weeks to see if they are doing ok.

Personally I like the very authoritarian, almost Nazi-esque style of running a forum that Habbox has. So you don't fit in their idea of a perfect Aryan habboxer, you try and fight back it's always gonna be you against the masses, and you'll lose, or worse, get infractioned.
I also like infractions, I love each one more than the last, the thrill of collecting them adds so much value to my life.

The scam rule is the stupidest thing ever. If someone says 'this guy scams' without any proof, no one will believe him anyway, so I don't know why the contents of the post should be removed and you get an infraction. And even if we have full proof, we're still not allowed to name scammers. For example, I got scammed by (cannot be named because I'll get an infraction) and I had video proof of it. It showed the name of his character on the video. And on the forum, he had confirmed his name. I pm'ed Dan and he forwarded it to an admin, and they said it wasn't enough proof? ...

That rule is fair, otherwise you'd get people posting names of people just to get at them, and everyone is entitled to being innocent till proven guilty.
However, you do have a point on that one occasion.

You can have as much proof as you want, the thing is it will start arguments. You could invite us round to your house to watch it happen (please don't), but the person who did scam will 99.9% go "I didn't scam you though", you will come back with "But you did, I have video proof and all these people watched it", they will go "you made it up". Dj-3000 maybe didnt give out infractions as they didnt exsist then , how would you know how many usernotes he gave unless you was a mod....
Also how do you know sierk does all the stuff you say he does? do you go up to his window and check?
Sierk seems like a nice guy , also sierk didnt introduce the rules the rules are introduced by the forum managers etc.I do disagree with the calling someone stupid , but there could be a situation where the guy you call stupid has disabilties iwtch makes him a bit 'syupid' in knowlegde etc....
But that still is too harsh , with the asking for rep / having it in your sig rule it has been mentioned in announcements many times that they are not allowed , smiddy did one not so long ago , reputation is ment to show how good of a reputation you have , if you say you will rep back its like an easy way of getting rep , they see your sig they rep you , they get repped back.
Also what did dj-3000 actualy do for the site? run a few events and the helpdesk? if he was so great why did he leave habbox to start PH so he could get backing from callie?
sierk has done a superb job to the forum and your acusation agaisnt him are incorrect.

lol i got scammed a while back , the guy admited it chat logs to his friend ( his friend posted them here) and also he even admitted he scammed in two ocasion , first ocasion he goes to 'so what if i scammed you? get over it' and secound ocasion he returned on a clone and said ' that was in the past and ive changed my scamming ways '

For people that didnt know, DJ3000 was an administrator, he was with the habbox forum for many years. A very good administrator, and he was banned for swearing once. Sierk temp banned him but after a week he permanetly banned him. I have information from a mod saying that that happened because he didn't believe in some of the ways that sierk dealt with things so he banned him.

I laughed at this thread.. If you have a problem contact an admin posting in this forum gets you no were.
1) I agree 'some' infractions are getting out of hand, especially the ones given out for saying the word 'stupid'. If it is used in the correct context it is a perfectly fine word. I feel it is better to use that word than some others people could easily use. I myself have some infractions, but most expire after a certain amount of time. I'm not really bothered about them.
2) To become a Super Moderator, it is isn't generally just done on Moderator Logs. When I was Forum Manager, I looked at every moderator currently working for HabboxForum and then consulted Sierk who also checked. I looked at the following: -
Moderator Logs Activness How helpful they are around the forum Edits Awarness of the rules Trust
As you can see it is not just purley on the amount of logs a user has gathered. I don't really know how things run at the moment but I suspect it is pretty similar.
3) Sierk - Sierk is an alright guy. Once you get to know him for a long period of time and talk to him he is very caring and will assist you with anything. I don't think people realise how much work Sierk puts into Habbox behind the scenes. He comes on messenger every night and goes through the future plans and sorts out any staff problems within the site. You must realise that due to the size it is a very busy site to run. Ontop of that he is at university studying a degree so he has a very big work load.
4) Some of the forum rules may be a bit old dated, but order must still be retained on the forum as it is a public enviroment.
5) When DJ-3000 was around, infractions and other things didn't exist it was only when vBulletin 3.6 was introduced that this feature became avaliable. But I can assure you that every instance of rule breaking was logged in your user notes, just not to your awarness.
I have worked on the site for more than a year in a high posistion until I left to move on and give someone else ago. Being high at the top meant I saw basically the whole running of Habbox in each department. Its not easy work being a manager with all the behind the scenes stuff people have to work on.
I use to login to 40 unread PM's a night, after clearing them I had to sort out moderation problems, VIP stuff, site management problems. Then ontop of that talk on messenger about things Habbox related. It is not easy.
With people complaining about a silly little infraction, I suggest to personal message an administrator directly instead of making pointless threads like these which cause arguments and just cause no problems. If it is a moderator you have a problem with then contact the forum manager (---MAD---) and it will probably be sorted quicker.

Yes but the reason we dont want people to call each other stupid is it creates arguements between members which we try to control as much as possible.
You idiot, I didn't start Moderator logs, I hated them but wasn't allowed to stop them. Get your facts right.

I agree to some extent. Most of the when I call someone stupid I was actually referring to their post or just posting the obvious, which isn't a rule. Stupid isn't offensive, neither is twit but I guess idiot maybe, but hardly something to cry about. I think Habbox Forum is trying to become over protected so they can see if they can become Official myself, it never used to be a mother and baby forum before?

That's why I said "maybe," depends if the "baby in question" who is being "offended" decides to cry over it.
Some Forum Moderators/Super Mods whatever does them, should read through a thread before making an Infraction, they may learn why the fool is being called an idiot. Rather than blindly doing it because there happens to be a negative word.
If they wanted to get rid of negative comments, they should delete anything that can cause a debate now, while they still have the chance! That would leave us with about 5 forums.

Right, I'm not going to get involved with the arguments running within here as there's so much I can't reply to it all. The one thing I really agree with was Baving's long post. But here's my views.
Firstly scamming. The scamming issue is that it is incredibly incredibly incredibly easy to fake it. I could go out and explain this all, but the lovely Jin has already done it, so why not refer to this post: http://www.habboxforum.com/showpost.php?p=2484880&postcount=4
Secondly, about the rules. You guys complain that we treat you like two year olds. All things considered, you must admit that the majority of the forum is on that majority level. If we were a community of adults, the restrictions could be loosened and the interaction would also be more mature. However we aren't so they can't and its not. You all know that there are a lot of people on this forum who can't take an insult, get into petty arguments, and are at others' throats. Additionally some people are just plain immature, rude, or argumentative. These rules are necessary because of the target audience, around 13-18 probably, though there are people older and younger. Basically, if the maturity level of the forum were to rise, maybe its possible, but I don't see that happening too soon.
Can you please explain to me how a mod would be able to tell you the reason for a ban when they can't view them? Because there are other reasons which I can't disclose, so your mod source was evidently wrong ;)
But most of the time when someone says someone scams is actually true like I said an ex mod scammed me which he did (no names mentioned) and coz he got such a good rep on here none of you beleived me and ba repped me, sad really

Well to be honest, your opinion is your own and you are welcome to think what you like.
However I must point out that when Dave was around, the infraction scheme had not even been invented for VB forums, and there was less than 3000 members on HabboxForum, therefore there would have been no need for lots of moderators. Since we now have over 20, 000 members, we need lots more moderators to ensure that the forum is kept clean.
Of course there will always be a problem with corruption from some moderators, but the new scheme that is being implemented to hire more super mods and less normal mods, should sort that out to a degree where the problem is neglegable.
I might also point out that if you are so against sierk and HabboxForum's regime and rules, why invest money into the site by buying vip? :s.

It is not the staffs fault entirely. I must admit that some of the staff are abit ott... and do need to be sacked. But what happens? The users decide that they do not like a certain member, then they start complaining and moaning etc... Just like you're doing now. Then it happens all over and over again with other people on this forum. Without these arguements it would be better, don't you think? It is the majority of users that ruin this forum. Although some of the staff do ruin it aswell, but not as much as the users. You do know that without moderators there wouldn't be a forum. Yes, it was better like a year ago, but thats because half of the good users have left and been replaced with others. Guess what? We don't all have the same personality. It can't stay the same forever. There were less users on the forum a year ago anyway. Less users = less arguements. I know my post probably made no sense at all but this thread is stupid.

It is not the staffs fault at all. I must admit that some of the mods are about ott, but they try their best. Then what happens? Without staff there wouldn't be a forum.

I do agree that certain mods are giving out harsh infractions over silly things like calling someone stupid, etc. I have an infraction and I believe it's unfair, I've tried to appeal but they said it was fair.
But at the end of the day it's just an infraction, live with it I suppose. The worst you can get is being banned. Then go out and play or something instead of just sitting there all day.

If the infraction is unfair you can just simply ask for it to be reversed anyway. All of my unfair ones have been reversed. Simple. As MAD said, they're 'looking into how they can sort out the "offending users" thing' The management are always changeing rules and other stuff to make it better for us and all they get in return is people like you complaining.

KaseR this forum isnt just for 16 yr old the rules state you must be over 13 or something to join so if you dont liek it leave? :S and sierk is very ncie when he wants to be (Kinda)
he said over 13, not 16.
If you don't like it leave.
If your only going to say somthing stupid? why bother saying it. The absoulte stupidty of this statment has been pointed out time and time again.
If they wanted to leave, they would. But they dont want to, they like the forum. hence they create these threads to try and IMPROVE the forum and FIX the problems.
The main reason in my opion that they are unfair is because they are all competing for Moderator Logs because if you don't get a certain anmount you are fired so maybe there should be no Moderator Reports just a check every 2 weeks to see if they are doing ok.
If that is the case, it does exsplain the problem as those rules are encorageing Bad moding. Good mods would control there forums, and not have to give many infractions, since people behave. If you need to give so many, youd have to be a very bad mod, fail to do the job a mod is supposed to, and give out complty unfair infractions when no problems existed "/

Why is this all being put on Sierk? :s
Sorry if this been said but im not reading through 8 pages :)
Well he does own the site? The guy at the top is responcable for all those below them, that is what the job at the top is. Thats like saying you cant blame blair for the war in iraq. No he didnt go out there and start shooting himself, He didnt come up with the evdiance used to go to war, but hes the guy at the top and hence responcable for all decisions made under him "/
Same with sirek. he may not have banned someone himself, but hes the one that hired who ever banned the person, or maybe even hireing the person that hired them. He is at the top, hence responcable. Many keep going on about all the work he does behind the scenes, problems he fixes etc. Managieng the site and being responcablke for it IS that job.
Plus whys everyone so up on DJ300?
jrh2002 got banned, he founded the forum
mizki got banned. She founded the website

pssh
edit' gobbing off and insulting people? You really believe that calling someone stupid (who posted homosexual images) and telling someone to shut up because they were acting like a mod, is insulting?
oh god, the people on these forums must be very mentally unstable.
I've made a thread in the Forum Management forum to discuss relaxing the "offending other users" rule.
I have to say most of your points are complete rubbish, and this is one of the most immature "my 2 cents" posts I've ever read.
You can't possibly say Sierk is responsible for making the forum "suck". There have been like 3 Forum Managers since DJ-3000, 2 Assistant General Manager (Forum) and about 4 Assistant Forum Managers. DJ-3000 is completely irrelevant to the situation.
I personally don't believe you deserve any answers to what you're saying, but the people agreeing with you aren't as rude as you are so I am saying this for their benifit.
We're planning to relax the "offending other users" rule because in some cases it is pretty unjust and over controlling. This is actually something that has developed within the mod team, I don't think it's down to any particular manager. We've always had the "do not offend other users" rule, it's just in the last 6 months the mods seem to enforce it to the extreme like giving people infractions for saying someone is being pathetic or they're acting childish. Obviously users shouldn't be infracted for describing someone the way they are being.
The rule will still definitely apply to unprovoked, moderate and severe insults. Things like "you fat cow" would still be against the rules.
Also, I need to add that these changes haven't been discussed yet and we probably won't announce it to public users if we relax them - we will just tell the mods. Because you won't know when we relax the rules (or even if we do) it's best to just not insult people at all - because quoting this post won't do any good.
Thanks

Infractons are there to show when you have broken a rule, not majorly to stop you breaking them. Most of my infractions are there because I was posting common sense, which isn't against the rules.
big site cant be moderated by a few.
This is the only think I agree on.

This is no way sierk's fault, sierk is so dedicated to Habbox and he always does best for it, that goes for 8Freak8 to.
I think Moderators are not educated enough about the Infraction system. It was just put in and a guide written which only tells you how to give them. I think there needs to be some in depth guide explaing each Infraction to the Moderators and siuations on when to give them. Moderators are not to blame, they just need to be trained on the system.
Many are given unfairly but if they are taught the system more clearly this will stop. The problem is alot of users cannot take being given an Infraction, even if they deserve it. Alot of you prefer the old usernote system because you never knew you had been warned because the Moderator didn't PM you, and this system does.
Basically you should just teach the Moderators all the Infractions and educate them on the system and calm down some of the rules like 8Freak8 said. Unfortunately there will always be unfair Infractions but we can reduce the amount given.

I do agree with that post. However, if you give them a in depth review on each Infraction then they would spent more time reading then moderating (you get what I mean).
If a guide was written assigning each rule to an infraction, so when that rule is broken a small amount then a warning of that type of infraction, if the rule was broken on a larger scale (this depends on the rule) then a full infraction is given.

Yeah I know what you mean joshuar, I meant like a guideline.
i agree with this totally.

Yeah I know what you mean joshuar, I meant like a guideline.
The idea I suggested would just have like:
A1 - Calling someone a [something] - Warning, Expanding on that with multiple insults - Infraction.
Just a simple, to the point, guide to each rule but making it clear what infractions should be given for.
Of course you would say which infraction type to give and a bit more information than what I gave, and have one of them for every rule on the forum.

Being official or not is irrelevant. You still have to follow the habbo way if you are going to use habbo images etc.
Well, the habbo way says "Do not give out personal info" - www.myspace.com can be classed as personal info. So you aren't following the habbo way.
GoldenMerc we don't have our rules to please Habbo, and rules against scripting and things like that apply to independent fansites too, not just official fansites.
Dont class habboxforum as a habbo fansite then :p Most people on this forum dont even play habbo.

Does it matter when she joined? For your information she's had alot of accounts..
Also, Sierk is a nice guy if you talk to him, so i dont know why it's his fault. Yeah sure, he doesnt exactly..do work that we can see happening, but when i was Assistant Shows Manager - he did do work. Behind the scenes.
It's simple really, if you dont like this forum or the people who run it..leave? The red X is waiting..
Also I have read this thread, and I may not have been here when Dave was around, but i've heard that he was a great manager - i myself know the dude and he's a nice guy! Some of the rules are harsh, but in order for the forum to be kept..in a good mood, it needs a border as to what you can do. I've got 1 unfair infraction, but at the end of the day it's only an infraction. Like I said, if you dont like it..leave?

I never knew Habbox Forum had 2 rules which contradict. Well, one isn't a rule but they do specifically say they obey the Habbo Way, but they do allow people to post their Myspace URLs in a forum.
I haven't seen Sierk for a while, so I don't blame him to be honest. He is only owner, I don't think he is forum Manager which is really where this "blame" goes. All that needs to be done is a few rules to be a bit more relaxed and possibly a talk with the Mods about how extreme a rule must be broken to get an infraction. I would like to see the glory of Habbox Forum restored :)

Dont class habboxforum as a habbo fansite then :p Most people on this forum dont even play habbo.
Like I said above, we don't have our rules to make Sulake happy, so if we want to allow MySpace addresses we can. Read our rules like the Bible - the newer rules take priority over the old rules. The "habbo way" rule was made when Sulake were much more controlling, but now they don't mind how the fansites act as long as they're not anti-Habbo. If Sulake minded they could email us, but if they did know I don't think they would mind.
About classing HabboxForum a Habbo fansite and how many of our users use Habbo. You're wrong, the VAST MASSIVE HUGE BIG EVER SO VERY LARGE 99% majority of our users are Habbo users, and our forum has a predominantly Habbo theme, with the trading, news, alterations and so on forums. Even if we did want to class ourselves "un-Habbo related" (which we definitely don't) it would be a lie, and it doesn't matter what we class ourselves - all the time Sulake consider us a community with a reasonable link to Habbo they will consider us a fansite.
But Sulake makes very little difference anyway, I only said about Sulake beause GoldenMerc brought it up. My actual post was supposed to show that Sulake didn't make our rules, hence "We don't make our rules to please Habbo".
Back on topic, we are reviewing the offending other users rule and I would really like it if this thread was allowed to drop :(.

HabboxForum has always, and as far as I know, will always be a Habbo Forum, just as Habbox.com will always be a Habbo site. Our users hear about us from other Habbos, and that's why we have so many users. Not only is this a well-run Forum (If you follow the rules) but it's also got a HUGE target audience - the million or so Habbos that visit the Hotel every year.
If you want a non-Habbo Forum, there are plenty. We don't want to be one of those. If you look at Big Boards, all the popular ones, with one or two exceptions, are targeted, not just general talk boards.
