View Full Version : Complaint.
Yes, another one.
I recently posted a thread which contained a rumour which was given to me by a good friend on Habbo about a visit from the Prime Minster 'Tony Blair' soon.
This thread got locked because 'it provided no evidence' whereas a similar thread, containing a rumour with nothing as evidence was posted yesterday and yet the thread did not get locked.
Mine: http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=294323
Jordy's: http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=294066
Thankyou.

Hi.
I didn't actually see Jordy's thread but yes, you are correct the thread should technically have been closed - which I have done now. I think you can also admit that your thread actually had absolutely no basis whatsoever but for all we know Jordy's might have.
Thanks.

The guy has nothing better to do ...
All he does is I LOVE U BUSH. MARRY ME PLS <33
Habbox's definiton of a rumour:
What is a rumour?
A rumour is information that hasn't been announced publicly by Sulake. You are allowed to post rumours however they must be backed up with evidence. Any evidence which has been edited i.e a staff's speech bubble, could get you into trouble!
Please do not post a rumour if you have no proof!
Read the rules, though i do see where your comeing from when you say if it is backed up, itd be news; correct. it would be.
Though i dont tihkn tony blair, AND President George Bush would both be on the hotel together, it really just wouldnt happen..

George bush says Jump, Blair says how high.
It'd be good if he did visit though.

Mr. Nixt has played fair and now closed the other thread. Although tbh I don't know if they should be closed.

I think the rules should be clearer, and I think there should be a seperate sub-forum for Rumours, and until they can be proved, they stay there.

What I should mention referring to this as opposed to his thread, you did not back up your opinion at all with reasoning, therefore not only is it the power of the moderator to decide and subsequently close the thread, he was right in doing so due to your lack of proof, this may have held true for the other thread, but you can't contest the fact that the moderator's action was to an extent fair. :)

In all honesty, I was proving a point to other members about Rumours and what they should contain and they should be backed up.
The other thread I was saying 'You need proof' because no-one believes it, or has reasoning to believe it because of 'lack of evidence'.
What really pee'd me off is the way the moderator/smoderator dealed with it, in closing one thread and not the other which contained exactly the same format as my thread.
This, was of course sorted out just after I posted this thread, therefore it was corruption until the other thread starter was given the same treatment and the thread was delt with accordingly which i'm glad to see.

Problems like this will be sorted out soon - there's a sorta guide thread coming to them soon. The first draft is in the HOUC Forums at the moment.
If you have a complain in future though, you should probably use the Contact Form and get a direct response from the Admins, or just report the un-closed thread.
I can assure you I am in no way corrupt.

As a Super Moderator I have several duties around the Forum. One of these is to regularly check reported posts. Your post was reported at least once (though I believe it was more than that) and I therefore became aware of your thread as a result of the reports.
I closed the thread and this was fair on the basis of current rules, as nvrspk has kindly explained. I did not close Jordy's thread at the same time I closed your thread, no. This is because the thread wasn't reported OR I didn't deal with the reported post(s) for that thread. If you would have reported the thread then I would have dealt with it in the same way, however the thread was only brought to my attention when you posted this thread and that is why I dealt with it after this thread was posted.
I hope that cleared things up.
