The ranch is up the hill pass the Majoys house which is across the river (I think). Then you hurd aload of goats and you've done that bit. I cannot remember what happens after it, I might play it from the beginning one day.

It gets a lot better. You do the herding goats minigame then go back to the village and the girl will complain about you mistreating the horse, then she takes it to the spring and you gotta go a backway to get there. Then something pretty cool happens.

And if it's not that... all the little children run into the forest and you gotta follow them.

Or are you at the bit where you gotta find 5 differents things and finding one thing helps you get the other, etc? Like, find the cradle get the fishing rod. Or is that before you get Epona?
