It seems that only an overnight cloudburst would put paid to the fixture after intense work by the club groundstaff got the pitch into a playable state by Friday morning.
Head groundsman Steve Kiddy told swfc.co.uk on Friday lunchtime: "It's perfectly playable at the moment. There is some rain forecast overnight but I think it will be fine unless we get a deluge."
Any rain in the Sheffield area is expected to clear on Saturday morning so official confirmation that the game is on should arrive here on the official Sheffield Wednesday website after a precautionary inspection at 9.00am on matchday.
A large crowd is expected for the game and supporters of both teams are asked to plan to arrive in plenty of time to avoid congestion at the turnstiles.
