I think to have a good diet you need a good calorie control:
for teenagers 13 above you need roughly :
2000 a day - Women
2500 a day - Men
For perspective an apple is 80 kcals.
This also means having somthing from nearly all major food groups :
Carbohydrates
Protein
Milk Produce
Fruit Vegetables.
Fat ( Dont cut it out all together but have it in moderation)
Breakfast:
A good cereal perhaps whole grain and an apple with a glass of pure fruit juice ( make sure to check sugar content in the juice as some companies balace out the lack of flavour with it)
Lunch:
A sandwich with wholemeal/Hovis best of both bread fresh lettuce helmans light mayonaise and a white meat or even for a lower calorie meat try quorn slices only 2% fat per slice.
Dinner:
Try a nice wholemeal pasta and for the sauce a tin of tomatos and some dried herbs.
Try a fresh salad with some low fat mayonaise or dressing.
Try a homemade soup using left over meat, vegetables and stock cubes finish of by blending. serve with a nice whole meal roll.
Pudding:
Try making your own puddings and having smaller ammounts of your favourites.
Tips:
try replacing red meats with white meat or quorn.
try to eat foods you normally would but dont eat to much of them
