we were doing a practical lesson today, involving bunsen burners, and a clamp stand with rubber ends on them (to get a grip on the things they were holding - in this case a test tube)

so anyway, some kids managed to get the rubber bits on fire, and there were three of them, so it went into a big flameball.

and i'll tell you what, it ******* stank of burnt rubber.

I remember science class, I had to set the bunsen burner on fire for the class demonstration. It took me 15 minutes, the whole class was watching.

Hahaha

we set fire to balloons filled with chemicals to see what colour the chemicals burned. was fun [:

we always do that. we go into "dA kEmiKolZ" cuboard as we call it and get all the nitrogen, copper sulphate etc etc and just basically cause chaos. : D

i used to love chemistry in 3rd & 4th year because the teacher was well cool, there was only 8 of us doing that class too, so she was lenient with any rules and let us swear and stuff. and like i set alight to her tables and stuff, and exploded a giant test tube, which shattered over everyone and burnt a whole in a 2 inch desk at one point. I didn't do it deliberately, just i'm really clumsy. She used to clap when i never broke something in one lesson :'( and at one point named the glass bin "allan's glass bin". then in 5th year we got a crappy teacher so i moved into IT x].

I love science, few months ago when I was extracting copper from a copper ore I chucked some green powder into the bunsen burner and it glowed green and yellow was cool.

Ahh yes, and I never properly apologised for that, so: sorry mate. I saw some posts in other threads later on and saw that you weren't actually that bad, it was just that thread in particular really didn't do you any favours.

If you just turn on the tap without the bunsen burner, light it... it's fun then. Just don't get caught.

Lol science always used to be boring 4 me. Our school was strict in that kind of thing. Although we did have some pretty good lessons. I remeber making nylon. I sucked at that.

I remember last year when everyone in the class gathered around the teachers bunson burner to view a demo and me and my mate locked legs and started swinging them - his shoe flew off and hit straight at the bunson burner which knocked it over onto the desk. :)
