Pompey didn't deserve to lose?! Are you thick or something..? Man utd were all over Pompey and had 2 certain goals ruled out.

Na im not thick, for the way they defended and held on for so long, thats why they didnt deserve to lose :s

Yeah as I said in the other thread, Rooney really made the difference. His second goal - excellent.

Still dubious about the 1st disallowed goal, different angles made it look over and not. Second one was definitely a goal, Larsson was onside when the ball was played.

usually when a team is holding on it is cos the other team deserve to win.

Anyway great end to that game.

Yes they deserved to loose, Utd had them on the ropes for the whole of the second half. It was only a matter of time before be got a goal that was actualy allowed. Score should have been 4-1 if it wasn't for the lack of attention payed to the game by the linesman.

What are you on about, if a team defends really well for the duration of the 90 minz surely they derserve to draw :s

I'm sorry, but the linesman's view will have been blocked for the 1st goal by Pedro Mendes on the line AND the referee was on the edge of the 18 yard box, so his view will have probably been blocked by other players. Although saying that, I thought it was over :D

Portsmouth were second best for most of the match, and conceded 2 goals. Of course they deserved to lose. Oh and Rooney's second goal was magic.

O well its over now 2 magical goals from wayne rooney, he hasnt been in top scoring form this year but enywayz hes a hard worker and he deserves more goals :D :) :D

thats cos he's not the top scorer sort of striker.

So what is he then lmao :s

He likes to play behind the striker, he will never get you 30 goals a season, but his work rate and assists alone will lead to more than 30 goals.

A player does'nt have to score every match to be brilliant. If he sets up 1 a match, for example, he's still excellent.

I was at the match and the first half dragged on for me. I was desperately looking for another perspective of the Larsson shot, then the second attempt shouldve been awarded to us. But when Rooney came on I knew we'd have an easier chance of winning as he needs a game like this to get back to his usual stamina. His second goal was amazing, one of the best from this season. We were sat there thinking "James is going to save it, good try Rooney" then we saw it go over James' hands and the atmosphere went mad!

It was a good second half and I kind of saw the Pompey goal coming I mean there support was greater than ours to be honest, apart from that guy with his drum :l

The irony was that Pedro Mendes was at the centre of another dubious goal-line decision...at the same ground...at the same end...but this time United fell victim to the lino. Remember when he lobbed Carroll for Spurs?

I might be a manu fan but that non-goal was awesome, Caroll dropped the ball and then tries to scavenge it out of the net.

Vidic is fantastic at headers isn't he?

LMAO yeah! And they kept shouting "You scouse bast***!" Me and my mate were killing ourselves laughing. We were next to the Portsmouth fans, I swear to god that guy with the drums probably got a black eye from a Utd fan outside the stadium. I bet you got a good view of the Rooney goal?

thar Rooney goal was awesome.

on sky sports news they were comparing it to a Cantona goal and I think Roon's was better.

Sorry mate but Cantona was the king and always will be the king :)
He's a very big comparison to Cantona as he can give shots that come across as impossible, so I think we have a new legend upon us :)

And I saw that aswell :)

manu looked pretty average from what i saw of it but when you have rooney on the bench you have no problem.
