on my nano its got an alarm clock.

but it only sounds for about 4 seconds.

anyway to increase the time?

yeh.
before you go to bed play a song & make sure the sounds right up. i have different headphones for my ipod, and the sounds louder so im not too sure how loud the ipod headphones are. should be loud enough to wake you up [:

Yeah, make sure you have the volume on max, and leave the headphones pretty close to your head, it should wake you up easily.

what i dont get is, ipods have a speaker for the click noise you can put on, yet when you want to use the alarm clock/listen to music without headphones the speaker doesnt work
its stupid

Yeah, a docking station would work. I'm gonna get one of those, I don't know which one. I heard the JBLs are quite good.
