I am also gonna use the logs I cut for 99fm (so if i use willows I will only need an extra 34k willow logs for 99fm :p)

I'd use willows, but once you get a high enough level you could cut maples. All the ones close to a bank are highly used though.

Personally I'd do maples as the less to burn the better really.

Maples - 5 - 1 min - 500xp

you can always cut willows for woodcutting sell willows and buy maples for firemaking.
