when the london bombs happened.

similar thread lol, to get your views on an event in a country where most of you live.

It was the first summer for me since moving from Liverpool, so i was not exactly familar with it, not as if everyone is familiar with somthing like that, anyways we were in the i.t room for R.E first lesson and the bbc website said their had been a power surge, straight away i knew it was terrorists because why would a bus have a power surge, everyone was worried all day and they cut all the phones off in school and mobiles were down (the police had done that all other london) my nan went through kings cross the other way when when the bomb went off the other way, so she was lucky. on the way home, we got on the bus and it was REALLY eery and silent, everyone was just looking at eachother for reasurrance, it really made me proud to be english the way we just carried on and didnt let 'them' win.

What about you?!

in school.
i remember it cos when it happened i was in science, and my teachers husband was in london and someone phoned her to tell her. she couldn't teach us cos she was panicking, and stuff so we had a substitute. then after the lesson (it was before lunch) we went out and i told my mates, and they wouldn't believe me.

I was in some DIY shop in Girvan, where I was staying with my Gran. I heard it on the radio and I was all "oh my god" but my Gran dragged me and my bro outta the shop before we could hear all about it, so I went to the library and read about it online. Then I phoned my mum and dad 'cause I wanted them to know about it.

It was like the second day of summer break, and I woke up at like 9 and went onto myyahoo, and saw it as the top story. Told my brother and called my mom, I followed it the rest of the day on the news and all they could do was compare it to 9/11. It didnt effect me as much, Im in the U.S.

I was in the cake queue. One of the kids in the year above told me but I was told it was 10 trains and 3 buses. I was the first person to tell my year!

Yeah 2hd. that happened at my school, some idiot girl spread around that every train was rigged, someone beat her up i think and she got excluded as it was seen as bullying as one girl was SERIOUSLY worried about her mum.

i was in PE lesson, just at the end and one of the office staff came in with a notice saying that there had been bombs gone off and stuff.. and then in science lesson our teacher was crying and stuff and trying to contact her parents (she did get through to them in the end), so she just shoved a video of Jurassic Park in the TV and let us watch it (although nobody bar 3 people did).

concidently I was at alton towers.. (weird eh? I was at drayton manor on 9/11 :s) unlike 9/11 I actually found out about it this time, I was there with ryan and we were queuing for rita, his mum came up to us and spoke to us through the bars and told us, She said it had been announced and we must of not heard it.

I had the day off lessons to show a group of Year 6 children who has been accepted into the school for an induction day. WE took them round the school and a variety of lessons which we were allowed to leave them in, or stay with them and help them do some fun stuff. At lunch we let them into the dinner hall, and had to have a meeting in the Music Block and the teacher said, "There has been a terrorist attack in London, and if you hear the bomb scare bell you need to take the Year 6's to the fire assembly point and register them, then go and get registered yourself". I felt so wierd being put in a teachers position with something as serious as this. But the bell never went, so I was alright.

It was a wierd day, and it was a bit surreal, but I had to put it out of my mind I guess.

My cousin worked in a hotel at that point and he phoned me at like 8 - 9am as my grandfather who was picking him up was running late. So whilst he was waiting I had to phone him and check he had left and all. Just as I was on the phone I switched on the TV and watched it all developing...

It's weird cause like all of the holidays I had slept in really late, but that day I incidentally got up early and watched all about it.

I remember my parents where taking my old dog to the beach at Ayr and I had to phone them and text them about it all.

i was in school and at break (10.25) somebody told everybody there had been alto of explosions on the tubes everyone went into the ict rooms and found it on the bbc then at 3:30 the school tanoy system dinged its annoying ding and said all pupils are to be kept in form rooms until further notice at 3:45 there was another annoying ding saying can all pupils go to the lunch room so we all went there and as my school is a school where most of the pupils travel in to school by train none of us were allowed home the government said that we were not allowed to be set free so i waited mucking about with my freinds until i started wondering how i was going to get home my mum was at work and that was my only option at around 5 o'clock most of the other kids had gone home and it was just me and my friend left (with a lod of other people) and then his dad came and asked me if i wanted a lift of course i said yes but the traffic was terrible it took us over 2 hours to get home oh well were safe
