Habbox VIPS shouldn't have ads.

As paying customers to Habbox, I think it's fair that we shouldn't have to ads in habbox also going for habbox workers. I say this because we pay Habbox and/or work for Habbox so I guess its only fair not to see those annoying little advertisments on are screens. Does anyone agree with me, if not please provide a reason.

they'd have to set up the skin for vips differently then. which'll just cause alot of unnecessary hastle over a block of writing advertising some crap. if they really bother you that much, download the adblock, cos i just think the complaining about the ads is getting abit OTT.

I'm going to go and mention this forum and say that HF do this, because when you buy VIP or whatever, your paying the forum, therefore you shouldn't have to see the adverts that habbox need to show so they get money whenever you see them.

Not too bad :p But yeah, I think it's something that will attract more VIPs, to get rid of the ads. It's just a case of each skin being copied, without the ads, then only made accessable to VIPs :)

Yeah, with a new paid skin designer its possible to create a VIPs only skin with no ads, I think it'd be a good idea =] However if they wanted to use classic they'd have to use it with ads, that would be fair right?

Using 'IF' statement, can be done, pretty much just selecting the usergroup id numbers, or displaying adverts for non vip's only which would be worse i guess.?

I guess doing that and adding the non members or maybe as stated before using IF so it doesnt display adverts. anyhow it can be done.

i agree, however if you install a VIP only skin, the non-VIPs will moan about it [even tho they get stars] + not everyone would like the skin. one skin would end up becoming 3 or 4

We want to make progress with giving normal members more features, as this is what will benifit the most people. We won't provide a layout without ads for VIPs if that layout could be used for normal members. It would also be a waste of time which we can do better things in.

At the end of the day you paid for VIP because you want the features which it gives you. It's not your place to demand extra features, when really you should just deal with the fact that there are ads now. I have to scroll down past 28 staff forums in order to see the public forums - think yourselves lucky!

We do listen to you, for example we will (or might already have, I'm not sure if MAD has done it yet) be making a thread asking if the majority of VIPs want to have stars by their name like normal members, and if they do we will add that.

But the complaints about adverts are just really silly, the ads are NOT that annoying. I have them too, and I don't even notice them. We're not going to spend lots of time resolving complaints about the ads.

Actualy, editing the source files, to show the ads only with a specific user group, wouldnt be that hard to do, i have done it myself on my ipb, although in that case, its dependant on whether or not the user logs in.
You would need to create an adition function in the skins class to support it though, still pretty easy to do, especaly for someone with experance in VB's file structure "/

Also you could use the firefox (i forget the name, basicly its an addition codeing compent which allows you to modifery elements on the page) to remove the ads specificly for this site, or change habboxs logo to your own, or anything else o.0 (same feature used to skin gmial accounts)

I have this hack already on my computer and you can define what usergroups have access to which styles via the styles manager and the usergroup permissions.

I think this hack is for 3.5 versions of vBulletin but should run on 3.6 fine.
