View Full Version : English football team loves excuses?

It's so annoying seeing England having to blame their losses on something every single time they come up short. Sometimes I just wish they'd admit they're inferior to their opposition, lack creativity, technical superiority, but it always gets blamed on something else. I mean they're alright, but the players are overpriced, overrated except for two or three and that's where it ends. I don't live in England but it seems the media over there constantly give false hope everytime England enter a new tournament, then when they lose they give the team a load of abuse.
Btw I made this because Mclaren blamed the "success" of EPL to their defeat, when their opposition's league (Spain) is better.
Do you agree? Or am I going to be flamed to the max?

I think we're crap because we have a terrible grass roots scheme, that's what seperates us. Also we lack creativity and skill, we play a standard game where better teams take it to the next level.

Separates you from who? It doesn't seem poor to me. But yes, much of it can be drawn conclusive from the style of play which is nullified by a better techical opponent.

I agree with you simmzay. They make up pathetic excuses every time & they just can't face the fact they are a pile of crap! They need to stop coming up with excuses & accept the fact they are no good and need to improve ALOT before they can even be considered to be in the same league as the likes of Portugal, Brazil etc.

I think we use the wrong players together e.g. Gerrard & Lampard dont play together.
Also our strikers are rated well but couldn't hit a barn door.
And maybe our strikers could get a goal somehow if our midfielders were more creative.
I have no problems with our defence but you need to get everything right and its currently wrong and we need a miracle manager to try and put something together with our players.
Also, we need Scholes back.

The Fact is these alot of English Talent out there. It should be a honor to Play in the world Cup / Euro. They shouldn't get paid for it... And the press should be partly Blamed, As it's alot of presure. Owen Hargreves was The only player in the world cup that gave it all he could.
Just because Ashley Coal plays well with Frank Lampard doesn't mean hes going to play well with Gary Nevil.
^^ That was just a example

Well it took bravery to say that. Although it would be more credible from an englishman.
Out of intrest, where DO you live?

I agree. You can see Gerrard and Lampard care more and put more into it for their respective clubs, along with most of the team. It could be an ego thing, or it could be because the money isn't in it.
It still remains that alotta English players are overpriced and probably think they're above the national team altogether. I mean everytime there's a friendly there's a lot of withdrawls from players who aren't really injured. Then that's down to the clubs, which is down the money, etc etc..
