Basically, my girlfriend want's to go the cinema with me and 2 of our friends (double date yeah?).

Anyway, they all live further away from me, so I have to get the bus by myself to the town, which I HATE.

What can I do to boost my confidence? Or should I walk or whatever?

(this is most likely supposed to be in the Teen Life forum, so can a moderator please move it if it is? Thanks.)

walk - get someone to drive you - or just pluck up enough courage to get the bus?

it seems a big deal, but it isn't really.

I don't really understand the problem with getting a bus.... Lol.

You need to start venturing out in the world some day, and how do you expect to travel places in future? You can't always drive or walk everywhere. Public transport is there for a reason, so make the most of it as we are lucky enough to have such a service on offer.

I think you should just go for it and get the bus. If your worried about other people on it or something, just sit near the front where the driver can keep an eye on you and mind your own business.

I'm guessing he's more scared of being around people that he doesn't know in a place that he can't get out of (like a bus). What I suggest is getting some heavy boots with steel toe caps, when I'm wearing mine I fear nothing.

I was actually scared of getting the bus for a while because i was scared of the bus getting crowded, so i missed my stop and ended up somewhere i didn't know. And, i was also scared of missing my stop or catching the wrong bus and stuff like that, but mainly because i worry alot and i get scared over the littlest of things. Which could be the same for him, you never know.

You should just pick up the courage and do it, thats what i did, and it doesn't bother me as much now. Just, sit near the front of the bus or something, so you can get off easier, and you don't have to worry about much. Or, just take another form of transport, like walking or getting a lift.
