I've taken my Mini on a plane, not my video yet though. Should be ok, because when you're in a plane it's like being in a normal enviroment. I think it may be because of the pressure. :)

Planes would'nt matter. They regulate a certain pressure?

Operating temperature: 32° to 95° F (0° to 35° C)
Nonoperating temperature: -4° to 113° F (-20° to 45° C)

How do they know the operating height? It can't be in a plane, because they should know pressure is different?
The operating temperatures are just odd, any other MP3 player can survive -4 temperatures and still work?

Maybe they meant 10,000ft outside.
Like, up a mountain or somewhere.

Probably made them up on the spot :P I forgot about mountains, so probably thats where the height thing comes in.

You can use it.
It wont really mess up the systems.
They say only things with CD's can mess up the systems.

As dumb as this may sound, maybe the LCD screens will freeze/melt LOL. Also, phones and electricals are always all perfect on and aeroplane and I don't think there's ever been an electrical that does interfere with the jets. However they say, "don't take yours on a plane" because the technology is changing dramatically all the time and there could be the chance that a new model of something comes out which could mess up the plane.

Considering they have 'portable device' vending machines on almost all airports here (they sell iPods and PSPs mostly), I don't really think it would be an issue. o_O

I took my Mini up there to the USA. It doesn't apply to planes, email apple and say they should make it more clear on the site ;)

I think -4° is fairly reasonable... I can't think where I'll be if the temperature reaches below -4°
