Hey guys.

I'm curious as to whether, as a teenager and young adult of our society - are you personally worried about bird flu?

With the outbreak of the latest cases in relation to Bernard Matthews, and the previous cases last year in Scotland - it proves that Bird flu has and still could be a threat to this country.

All the scientists claim the media is just over exagerating the full thing and that it would be highly unlikely for it ever to pass to humans here. They also claim that eating poultry will not have any effect on people as if it is cooked thoroughly - whether or not it is infected you'll still be fine.

However, the media have kind of created this doom picture that we are all going to get this flu and it'll kill hundreds of thousands of us.

So - what do you personally think?

Are you really worried about it all?
Do you think it's all been exagerated and your not worried?
Do you just not really care?

Personally, at the moment I'm not really worried about it at all. Once, and if, it ever spreads to humans I'll obviously be worried then - but at the moment we have only had a couple of cases in some birds so it isn't a big issue for me currently.

Vote and discuss! :)

Are you really worried about it all? Not really.
Do you think it's all been exagerated and your not worried? Its all been exagerated. Only a few birds die and its public news to lock your windows and doors and eat beef for the time being :]
Do you just not really care? I do care, as some people are being infected, and some dying. But it really has just gone too far...

At the minute I don't think it's anything to worry about... It's affected a few birds in the UK, but nothing else, and it'll only really affect humans who spend lots of time with birds, like farmers and stuff.

Personally, at the moment I'm not really worried about this matter either but i don't think i will be buying any products from Bernard Mathews, never really liked their food anyway lol. If it eventually does spread and kill a human then i will be a bothered obviously but for the time bieng im Ok :)

i suppose i should fear it ''/
the media have rendered into a stupid story making machine though, and it's hard to take the threat seriously.
of course it has the potential to be kataklysmic, but at this particular moment in time? well, i'm not losing any sleep.

20,000-36,000 people die from the NORMAL flu every year, why all the sudden commotion about something that has only killed at most a few dozen?

I think they should find a cure, but I also think think they should concentrate on #1 killers like heart disease, Cancer, and HIVs.

I'm not worried at all as Bird flu is one of those things you can only get if you near enough fornicate with the animal. I think you have to inhale the dust from their ******: I'm sure I won't be doing that lol.

Not at all. And if you gave me a bird flu infected peice of yummy burger, I'd eat it*

*Terms and conditions apply: Depends if it is a nice tasty one and if its cooked.

But honestly, It's not like I wake up everyday "I'm gonna die from bird flu". But I wouldn't go round licking bird crap.

Just my one euro and seven cents.

Bird Flu is very hard to catch. You need to be in close contact with infected birds.

Too over exagerated for me. It's not really a big thing and has kinda died down "/ When it has been found, the media, as usual, go crazy.
