A light hearted look at her crazy antics...

That's sort of harsh. Calling her white trash and a hillbilly. But you did say it was light hearted so no harm done.

It is harsh, cruel. She is having a nervous breakdown and all you think is she is doing it for the press. She needs help before she does something else.

At first i thought it was an Article about her, so i thought i would read, now i regret doing so.

I find it discusting that someone wrote that, no one should have wrote a poem like that done against them, even if its a Celeb.

Infact i kind of find that as a bully matter; which is good when Habbo are doing an Anti-Bullying campeign... :s:rolleyes:

:eusa_clap Well said. You shouldn't write about her in that way. She is doing nothing wrong, she is helpless and needs care.

Not exactly bullying, if someone you didn't know from Hong Kong was writing a hate poem about you right now, would you care mate? lol
I think the poem is rather good but it's a shame some people take offense to it.

I don't get what's wrong with it. If you called someone white trash or hillbilly in America, nobody would bat an eyelid.

i think that is abit harsh

shes going through alot right now

divorce, etc.

and she cant get away from the paparazzi.

so you would get abit annoyed with it all.

& she was checked into rehab, she didn't check herself in, & then she checked out. she went into the salon and was talking about how she wanted to cut it all off, and the hairdresser was saying to her things like "are you sure you want to cut it off, you might just be having a bad day and feel different about it tomorrow." but she was sure she wanted her hair, well .. gone.

it's sad really. it a sypmathetic way, not a 'how pathetic' way.

Mrs.McCall

Wow, controversial lol.

I don't mean Britney any harm, I am a fan but I just find it all bizzare. I did say it was a 'light-hearted' look.

Britney is used to worse criticism, surly.

Everyone complains about all my poems being the same but, hey, something different.

Steven it's hardly bullying. Talk to me, i'll tell you what bullying really is.

It could have been put much worse.

As Articles Manager, Joey would not post anything too harsh, or with the intention of hurting anybody. The poem contains a few minor racist remarks that are normal in the USA, and a bit of light-hearted "oooh" nastiness. It's not intended as a poem to have a go at her.

get over it, she decided to cut over her hair, thousands of people must do it everyday. this is just an excuse for people to make stupid comments about her, the newspapers being the worst culprits.

i personally think its disgusting. i know i'm one to talk, but i think just because celebrities are a higher class than most people in the world, it's okay for us to make snidey and spiteful remarks about them, not constantly.

it was her choice and i doubt she regrets it, it goes to show that she'll go to all lengths for a new start, i haven't seen many other celebrities do that tbh, apart from gail porter because of her illness. unlike any of the paparazi, people who criticise her, people who hate her for no apparant reason, fans who have become haters, she blatently has some form of guts.

i'd actually love to see the person who wrote that poem go through what she's gone through, just to see what it's like having your life under the spotlight 24/7 just because of some mistakes she couldn't see. i mean ***, she can't exactly see into the future so how is she supposed to tell what would have happened?

yeah, she got addicted to the bottle, but that happens to lots of non-celebrities, and say...people who are hating on her has a member of their family who're an alcoholic, they wouldn't judge them. and just because celebrities have money, i doubt there are any of the "greatest psychologists" because if a problems that far in, only they can fix it.

people like him/her or whoever wrote the poem **** me off. idiots. (:

That's really harsh.
She's been going through a rough time lately, last thing she needs is people making fun of her, you should search britney spears on youtube, you'd see all horrible things about her and a video of a man copying her and ****ing her off.

I really feel sorry for her, and so what if she wants attention, we all do now n then.

Browney
21-02-2007, 03:50 PM
The writer of this poem said she wanted attention but the writer is the one giving her the attention?

Mrs.McCall

This was only meant to be a joke. The whole 'attention seeking' thing is just a theory. It turns out (apparently) she did it to get back at her mam..

Mrs.McCall
22-02-2007, 07:28 PM
People can think what they like. It's a poem :) If you're upset, I apologise but hey, you don't even know her and neither do I so its no biggie. :) Glad people r getting interested in poetry.

People are getting "interested" in poetry for the wrong reasons, its barely poetry - it's more along the lines of insulting. You're cold hearted.

It' is insulting and rude towards others, i class that as bullying, my opinion. "I'll tell you what bullying realy is"; I think i know what bullying is, infact i've experianced bullying so, no thanks. :)

Yes it is controversial, as controversial as teens can get, yup. I bet Jamie is freaked out with her sister right now, she has her own show, but I think that show is going to be in a long-term hiatus. Britney lost all hope for having her children now, this and 'going commando' lost all hope, congrats Britney, Valley Girls are talking about you in my school! It is sad, the poem was good though, but it isn't a very good idea about putting racial comments in poems. Yet. One time I was talking to an African kid, and he called me white trash, racist ****, red neck and some other uninteresting names for me saying I hate Dark Chocolate but love white chocolate.

Mrs.McCall
23-02-2007, 09:29 AM
White Trash comment was removed because it was seen as racist, which is fair enough.

Steven. if you think THATS bullying then you've lived a sheltered life. Was just a joke... no harm was needed. Britney has had worse said about her...

Yah i think all the stuf in the press is all wrong. I Mean yah obvsly someone is going to report about it but like their are plenty of people in the world that just shave their hair. How do u think u would feel if u had been a mega star since u was 17 or w.e and ur only 24 and ur worth $150m + and u got all these problemes and press. I Dont know about u but i do stupid things (not as drastic) when im annoyed with someone. Think about it people.

Ethical/bullying issues aside, it's really not a very good poem anyway...

If I was Britney I would have broke down sooner... she goes through a lot, and it was bound to happen one day - it's better happening now while she isn't really active in her career.

Any celebrity that lives their life with all eyes on them, like Britney, is under all kinds of additional pressures of being famous. The girl can't even pop out without being surrounded by photographers because they literally stalk her in some areas.

There's a popular picture of Britney actually, where she's on the beach alone (probably wanting some alone time) and there's a sea of photographers in front of her... I like that picture because it just makes you realise how bad they have it sometimes.

Mrs.McCall
25-02-2007, 05:33 PM
Thank you for your opinions. :D

They are very much so welcome and I am glad to have fresh debate in articles for once.

Some of you have disliked the poem generally for its quality, some feel I've crossed a line between what is ethical and inethical.

All in all I feel that the poem has been successful in getting people to view articles in general, the deparment is regularly overlooked. I am, however, saddened that the poem's main purpose - that of pure comedy - has backfired on me spectacularly! It was only meant as a joke and I have offended people and, for that, I apologise.

I am, in no way, a bully AT ALL! I have been bullied myself on the forum and in real life but we must see that a simple poem isn't hurting Britney. I do apologise if you feel I have bullied Britney but the poem did not set out to do that.

I would like to apologise especially for my "white trash" comment in the original version, I did not see it as racist as I am white myself but [as was pointed out to me] it still isn't a correct phrase in today's society.

I hope you continue reading our articles.

:)

tbh, everyones entitled to have their opinion and express it in any way they like. the poem you wrote was nothing compared to some of the remarks the tabloids, etc have made about her of late... but, it is a bit low to make a mockery of some one that's clearly going through hell.

Browney

In my opinion, if she's so desperate to get out of the limelight why does she pull herself into with stunts like smashing a car with an umbrella?
