What age can I get my mole on my neck removed, I'm getting it checked on Thursday and fear it could be cancerous. Last year it was a brown colour now its really growing red. What age can it be removed and what method do they use.

I think the best thing would to just see what happens on Thursday and see what the doctor or w/e says to you

My sister got her mole removed at the age of fourteen...

Either you need consent from your guardians/parents, or you can get it done without? *shrugs* Don't know...

You can do it now with laser treatment. If its cancerous, they will remove it free of charge.

My cousin was 18 before she was allowed to have her nose straightened so I'd guess its 18+.

Well, my mom had a mole removed by laser treatment, or something like that, so they could do it that way too. And, i guess it can be removed at any age, because if it's cancerous, they'll have to remove it instead of keeping in there, just see what the doctor says.

Mole Removal Techniques.

. Excision [Cutting] With Stiches:

. Excision With Cauterization [a toll is used to burn away the mole

Typically, the doctor or dermatologist (a skin specialist) may choose excision with or without stitches depending on the depth of the mole and the type of cosmetic outcome desired

What is a mole?
Many people refer to a mole as any dark spot or irregularity in the skin. Doctors use different terms. But skin marks such as these are not treated the same way moles are and are not discussed here:
Birthmarks
Abnormal blood vessels (hemangiomas)
Keratoses (benign or precancerous spots, which appear after about age 30 years)
What causes moles?
Some people are born with moles. Other moles appear over time.
Sun exposure seems to play a role in the development of moles and may even play a role in the development of atypical, or dysplastic, moles.
The role of heredity cannot be underemphasized. Many families have a type of mole known as dysplastic (atypical), which can be associated with a higher frequency of melanoma (http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=413) or skin cancer (http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=478).
I Would Recommend You Consult Your Docter And Se What He Has To Say On The Matter
