I wrote this script tonight, after reading about the "image" element for forms in (X)HTML. It's quite a useful little script for anyone that creates layouts.

What happens is that you give it a file, and then it creates two copies of it - an original and a copy that will be marked. When people visit your personal share page, they can click on their favourite part of the layout, and then it is logged, and marked on the "marking" image using GD. You can visit the "marking" image yourself, and see where people clicked.

Basically, if you upload the files to your server, with two changes to the code explained in the readme file, you can use the script to help find out what people like about your layouts. Once you've uploaded the script, you have to upload the layout you would like to get information about to your site or an uploader. Then visit the URL you uploaded the script to, and paste the link to the image.

Click "Plot Map", and providing you have the GD extension for PHP, which you probably do, it will give you the link to the page where people can click their favourite area, and a link to where you can see the results from the people who have clicked.

Here is the sample of the finished result:

I can't afford the bandwidth to run it myself (I have virtually none), so I am giving the script away to anyone who wants it.
